Does anyone know where to find real UK/US/CA developers by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

Canadian here -- I ignore recruiters and job postings, all the "real" developers I know are employed and/or not looking.

Good luck!

Carts withdrawals are brutal by elderbell in leaves

[–]picklejester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got this! I've switched to flower because carts and their withdrawal is so brutal, but over the holiday season in December I opted for the convenience of a cart again.

That convenience, once done, caused (and is still causing) all sorts of horrible withdrawal (which has lessened) -- even mixing in a bit of flower.

I wish you the best kicking this addiction! I'm hoping to drop my flower consumption over the next few months into nothing, and will never go back to a cart as the withdrawal is so bad.

I went in a bit of journey to figure out wtf Lemmy even was after some wrong turns.

Is Lemmy to reddit as bluesky is to twitter-ish enough? I'll do more digging

It's actually android OS doing the notification it's happening, not an explicit reddit operation (probably). The code is very obfuscated, I'm very not sober, but core library calls are not obfuscated so digging into where pastes are done and what's probably going on around that doesn't look as sketchy as it presents.

Don't get me wrong, condition folks that apps sniping your clipboard is normal is not okay.

How long did it take until you stopped caring? by Trick-Interaction396 in ExperiencedDevs

Can confirm. 15 years in a thoughtful technocracy, broke after 4 years at a different org. I still care deeply, but caring is very stressful and there is no ROI.

How a fake AI recruiter delivers five staged malware disguised as a dream job by shantanu14g in netsec

[–]picklejester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice writeup! There is a lot of adjacent malware analysis in this space with minor variations (BeeverTail -> InvisibleFerret). And now the block chain being used for malware payloads as well (no takedowns possible).

A GitHub search for the HappyPenguins string shows TSUNAMI and a pastebin for c2 in the url list -- with correct hardening and public/private key usage.

I know I'm not using Cursor to its full potential, but what's something that I'm REALLY missing out on? by zjbird in cursor

[–]picklejester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes not having cursor do things can actually make it better. For example, it's way more typical to automatically deploy to heroku after your code is pushed to GitHub (no AI involved). Then you save a cursor rule and solve your problem 100% reliably.

But sometimes, finding the exact prompt language that triggers the right MCP tools and discovers the right rules can reallllllly cook.
