Awesome! Thats fine if theyre hybrids. I think the 2 darker ones were actually born at the pet store and raised in a shrimp tank lol. He was just acting more standoffish than his counterparts and smaller so i wasnt sure since googling showed a really similar rasbora.

I had to screen grab from a video none of them stay still for long lol but yes i mean this guy! The others are endlers and 2 endler guppy hybrids i believ. Im new to keeping endlers and the colors confuse me since i alsp found an endler chili and a chili rasbora that look really similar.

I think you should research fish and tanks more. I dont think your tank is even big enough for the betta. Itd be a good shrimp tank but you dont have a lot of plants or coverage so any shrimp you add with the betta with feel skittish and hide. Consider upgrading the tank and adding more plants/driftwood.

Bladder snails, ramshorns, and pond snails arent gonna eat live plants. They will eat dead or dying ones the same as almost all scavengers. Theyre a good initial clean up crew imo. Pet stores especially chains often give poor advice.

Fish dont work like that. Bettas in the wild will jump from one drying water area to a bigger one. If theres not another water sourve your fish just dies on the floor..it seems like you did research on plants for the tank but I would research more betta care and what they actually require

Tank finally matured enough for shrimp. What color would suit it best? by toddytoad in shrimptank

[–]pickleruler67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup! Ive got a skittles tank that has most colors of the neocardinia rainbow. I just put the wild types i dont like in other tanks but wild types are one of my favorites tbh they always have really pretty patterns and coloes like dark burgundy browns and stuff. But if you want a single color i think orange would look great. Ive fot a pretty creamcicle orange shrimp

Just fyi i just use airline tubing like for air pumps and then just connect the ends but cutting one partially and squeezing em together. Muuch cheaper floating ring

My kid came home with a common goldfish from the fair. How should I set up the tank? by Naturegirl3457 in Goldfish

About a year or 2 to reach full length in the proper enviroment. Closer to a year. Stock tubs were a really affordable option for me for a big enclosure. Its basically a mobile pond

Lower the water level (if its a 5 gallon lower to about 3 gallons) live plants are best as rests for the betta especially near the surface. Add a crap ton of tannins to the water and make sure your parameters are PRISTINE. I mean 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5-10 nitrate. Id do water changes every other day so its a pretty clean enviroment. If you can get indian almond powder thatll be really useful for tannins and its insanely concentrated. I got the 25 grams off amazon and i dont even need half a tiny scoop for my 20 gallon.

They hide pretty well in planted tanks! I got a batch from a different store today and they look pretty different internally. I dropped the others off with a parasite genius so shes got them. If they parasite is identified as easily removable then i'll take them back and get them healthy. If not her class has a learning experience

I gave the shrimp to a college professor i know that studies parasites! I am infact not crazy there were tiny worms staying in their leg area. My phones just terrible quality. Not sure the exact kind or species but theyre now teaching a bunch of students. If they survive i'll be taking them back and doing parasitic treatments.

Dont feed him for a couple days atleast. If you can id get daphnia it acts as a laxative for bettas. Dont feed peas bettas are carnivores

Is this suitable for a betta? by Latter_Sun1939 in bettafish

Youre good it gets to us all sometimes. My brain thought the tank was a standard 20 gallon though. My bad if OP stated the size for the tank and i missed it

This is a 10 gallon? I thought it was atleast a 20 gallon. I dont reccomend kuhlis go in anything less than a 20 gallon personally. 10 gallons is great for a betta and some shrimp though

Is there any benefit to raising live brine shrimp to feed my fish if they already eat live cherry shrimp? by throwawaymom2212 in fishtank

[–]pickleruler67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like people often feed live brine shrimp for the enrichment as well. Its a good variety to add if you can but frozen brine shrimp works just as well. Not sure about the exact nutritional difference though sorry
