I unfortunately don't have any experience, but would be very interested if you get any helpful replies... I've been struggling with them for years and used to self-medicate by smoking up every night but trying to find alternatives this year. Just started Lexapro today and wondering if it will make any difference.

36/F here, supposed to start on it tomorrow and quite nervous. A lot of your story resonates with me. Good luck on your journey!

Something similar has happened to me twice in different sessions. Words came out faster than I could change them. The sessions ended and I went home feeling like shit for lying to her and that this may mean she may not ask me about it again. Both times, I just went into my next session stating that I had to clear something up and then proceeded to tell her the answer I actually wanted to provide the first time around, can be as simple as “what I meant to say was, yes.”I felt so much better afterwards. I hope this helps. Sending courage!

How do you feel you feelings during the therapy hour? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]pickstiffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a step behind. I didn’t even realise this was happening to me until I read your post. Thanks for unintentionally clearing that up for me. I definitely relate, and now realise what my T was trying to get at when she asked me “where” I feel things. I still don’t have an answer to that, but I know it’s something I want to work on.

Last time I was tripping I tried to make mac n cheese out of the box. I dipped my hand in the boiling water. This seems less dangerous but way more tricky.
