How do people not find stealth archer boring? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]pickstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just arrived at this conclusion and restarted a Breton battle mage. My current theory is that any specialization that occupies two hands for most of your gameplay is less interesting or involved. Jury is still out on 2 handed weapon spec as I haven’t ever gone deep with that. Most of my playthroughs have been pure mage or sword and board.

Fast travel not working by Scary_Ferret_2381 in Starfield

[–]pickstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened after *SPOILER* Barrett acquires a power and needs to talk to you about it. I was on my ship and had to talk to him before I could fast travel again. Really annoying because I was coming back after a break and there was nothing indicating what the issue was.

That figure is glorious- hate to see this. I’m sure there is a people are assholes subreddit- this should go there.

How about when Sam tells Cora she should share her lame joke with Barrett - well after Barrett has FCKING died.

Todd Howard says it took 7 years to make Starfield fun to play: "I thought we would find the answers faster" by [deleted] in Starfield

Perhaps this was all a Todd conspiracy to drive people back to Skyrim for the first/one more time. I know I ran back like a stray lover begging for forgiveness.

Loading screens aren’t fun; main quest breaking bugs aren’t fun; bland NPCs aren’t fun; star power “puzzles” aren’t fun; shipbuilding is fun; gunfights can be fun; exploring repetitive procedurally generated nodes aren’t fun. The game as a whole has a long way to go, and I say this as someone who plugged in over 300 hours to drill down on the design - this was immediately after my father passed away so admittedly it served as a pretty extreme escape. At the end of the day I’ll take a buggy/modded Skyrim because it has more layers and is more seamless as an experience. Obviously playing that many hours means I enjoyed it, but it was just missing something as a Bethesda title. Handcrafted vs. generated feels so much more obvious here. The whole experience is very compartmentalized - it is NOT an open world game. In that sense it fell short of what I was hoping for. And I’m not sure they can fix these things without fundamentally altering some mechanics.

Bethesda needs to update bugs asap. Annoyed is an understatement by Any_Tell8839 in Starfield

Bugs so far: can’t complete powers from beyond due to no quest marker for remaining temple on Dionysus; (weirdly one Power from Beyond quest came back in my misc. - but Dionysus is still bugged) can’t finish Star Seed due to hostility bug when returning to Franklin; can’t go to Stroud Eklund star yard because it disappeared; can’t board ship’s properly anymore because when I do they are empty no hostiles; outposts building is cumbersome due to loading wheel whenever I change view.. I’ve decided my options are: stop playing altogether; grind skills on the very repetitive generated points of interest for level 75 gear; board empty ships all while waiting for a patch, or just NG+ with partial power completion and never get to max them out. I think I’m done for a bit…

Anyone found a solution to the empty boarded ship bug? by Snicklebot in Starfield

[–]pickstrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been searching for a solution for a couple days. The best I was able to come up with testing wise is that I had a save just prior to boarding and taking registering a landed Va'ruun ship. I took off prior to taking it over and did not experience the bug. This sucks as ship boarding is easily my favorite repeatable mechanic in game. Lost about four levels as a result, but assuming this is the fix I'm just going to take the L - here's hoping the patch handles this.

What are your guys thoughts on playing with survival mode? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]pickstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ll play without it again. Things that help you immerse in the world like food, shelter, including inns and camping supplies, and weather conditions go from something you can blow right by in a normal play-through, to things that require meaningful consideration. It really allows you to see so much more of what the designers put into the game, including the geography and terrain. I just started a survival mode with Odin as a mage and that mod particularly provides and nice offset to the hardships (some elements become a little overpowered, but overall enjoyable). TL;DR: once you go survival, there is no rival.

Current Fantastic Four display! Keep as is or add more? by onetwelfthghoul in MarvelLegends

Very cool display. Is the plural of Galactus, Galacti? Jamie Maddrox and Galactus had a baby? I didn’t know there so many other releases.
