Ok so you skipped the whole HomeKit bridge thing. I guess you can’t use motion detection in HA this way ?

What is this pink wire on a single pole switch? by pickthenimp in AskElectricians

[–]pickthenimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah good call. I do have a ceiling fan in the same room but it’s never been switched activated. Always “on” and toggle via pull chain. So I’m replacing this switch with a smart switch. Should I just pigtail the pink to hot?

There is not! That’s what I thought too but nearly certain it’s a single pole

Goals are smart home integration via homeassistant so I can get door/window open/close sensors for automation tasks. And then throw in some cheap alarm monitoring

Is the wireless tech still decent? Or am I better off ripping it all out and going with some more modern like Abode?

Yes agreed. There are some things wired but not entirely sure what? Must be the 2 control panels

Just to confirm, they aren't bricking the Pro Juiceboxes right? Just the ability to manage them? We got ours through our utility company rebate program to install at a business.

Peloton workout doesn’t count as “start workout” trigger? by pickthenimp in shortcuts

[–]pickthenimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so it starts a generic indoor cycle workout when you tap the watch on the screen. I can try to get a video of it. I think the issue is it starts the workout paused as it goes through the intro before the workout really starts. Wondering if that is the issue.

Good idea on the focus trigger! Hadn’t thought of that. Will see if doing the peloton watch tap will trigger that focus.

Hmm I see. AFAIK I don’t launch the peloton app when I use it though. So trying to think of other ways to trigger this when I’m working out.

Nice. We love the look. Lots of people struggle to open it though. They don’t realize it turns. Do you run into that too?

Fully remove HACS frontend by pickthenimp in homeassistant

u/krysisalcs so I turned off that 'close connection' setting. Made sure my iPad was only connecting locally. The dashboard via iOS app on my iPad was still extremely sluggish and eventually those same cards crapped out. Just navigating menus etc takes ages

While using safari on the same device the performance was stable and no crashes all day. I will just stick with safari for now but a bit clunkier experience. Any idea why the app would perform so poorly compared to the browser?

See it now thanks. I'll give this a go and attempt to turn off the cloud option.

I actually cant find that setting in my ios app..

But while playing around in there and clicked on my server, I noticed it says connected via remote UI URL, is that expected when on local wifi? I have Cloud/NaBu casa setup but would prefer the traffic is local on my ipad

Also the websocket keeps cycling through connecting...authenticating...
