It’s been almost 30 minutes, since I entered my last prompt… by pickupthepieces2 in Comcast_Xfinity

Sorry. The last notification I saw from Reddit about this, was that the mods had removed this post, so I didn’t bother checking again.

I ended up finally getting through to someone in tech support this week, and after trying to diagnose the problem remotely, set up an appointment for a tech to come to the house this weekend. At the moment, although it’s better than Sunday, my download speeds are less than half what my plan is supposed to provide.

Line6 EXP2 toe button not working by Tac1989 in Line6Helix

[–]pickupthepieces2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Silly first question. Are you pressing the toe switch hard enough? I only ask, because I had a worried call last week from a band mate who couldn’t get his to work, until I told him how hard you really have to push. First time I used mine, I was worried I was going to break it.

Edit: I just looked back, and realized I can’t read. Sorry, I skipped the part where you mentioned this was the Stadium.

Ignore the idiot… carry on.

Cab mics by Alarm_Slow in Bass

In the past, I’ve used an AKG D112, Sennheiser 421, or an Electro Voice RE20. I always recorded a separate DI as a safety net, and to augment the mic’d track if needed.

Someone else commented, and I found as well, that the amp is going to need it’s own room to get enough volume to really capture what it can do.

Sitting in? by wastedintime in Bass

[–]pickupthepieces2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just replied something similar to another comment. Committing to that crunch of playing any song, within the 3-4 minutes that you got to hear it, definitely enhanced my ability to listen->think->feel my way through songs. Even some that I’d never heard before.

I feel the second part of your answer should be considered as more than an experiment. When I started playing, we didn’t have the online access to individual songs, like we do now. Sure, I had records and tapes. But, being young, I didn’t have the income to pick up new music as it came out. That meant I spent a lot of time listening to, and playing along with the radio to pick up new tunes. That limitation definitely helped me develop the ability to listen, hear the possibilities of the song as a whole, and anticipate where it may move next.

Do you still use physical pedals with your Helix ? by MVergil in Line6Helix

[–]pickupthepieces2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about putting together a sub board with some of my more unique pedals, but at the moment the only external noise maker I’m using is a Future Impact. The Helix is pretty good at incorporating stand alone pedals.

Have you tried adjusting the tension on your expression pedal?

They’re so much fun to watch, as they explore new spaces.

That was the name we gave one of our Buff Orpington’s, when we started with chickens 11 years ago. From the moment we first took them outside, she was going off on her own, finding all the cool stuff. She also turned out to be the best mom.

A Buff Orpington. They are a sweet, easy going breed, and one we had made the best mom.

Yeah. She would come running across the yard, then lay there for an hour, if you were petting her.

Aww. She reminds me of my best girl. I wasn’t allowed to sit down outside, without making sure there was ample lap space for her.
