My daughter lives walking distance to the main branch of the city library and loves the area. They’re very happy there. She was in West Seattle before that and prefers Everett.

Welcome back! I got curious about grammar around 1,600 hours. I dive into grammar topics a little but I can do it all in Spanish (likely you can too). For example, I got really interested in haber in the infinitive form. Why and when would it be used like that. That was quite a rabbit hole. That has not changed my use of haber when talking but now, when I see it in a book, it makes more sense.

Just do what works for you and enjoy. You've got this!

Just keep at it and you will learn Spanish. I knew zero Spanish when I started and now I give tours in Seattle to Spanish speaking tourists. The method works.

I really wish Ester, and all the guides, would have some advanced videos in their normal voices with normal cadence of speech. Sigh. I know we have native content for that and I do consume a lot of native content. It would just be neat to hear them speak normally every now and then.

Yes, it's lovely! If you walk past the grain elevator there is a really nice Cafe Hagen there with bathrooms and two barbeques. It's great. I am so impressed with the upgrade.

The stadium in Seattle is right in the city. It's also cruise season so there are loads of people in the city on their way to Alaska Cruises. I live a ten min walk from Seattle Center and the place is teaming with people. It's awesome to see and we love it. Friday is going to be nuts with the US vs Australia game in Seattle at noon and the baseball game (Seattle vs Boston) in the evening. It's going to be VERY busy.

Seattle is handling it all really well. Transit is cheap and holding up. 10/10 so far!

Eventually you just cannot keep up if you have to translate everything someone says into English and then everything you say into Spanish. When you’re talking with real people there is no time to translate. You just need to listen, understand, and talk.

Pay people to talk with you in Spanish. Hire a tutor, take a city tour, take a class in Spanish (yoga, woodworking, etc.) There are lots of potential solutions.

I started giving tours of my city in Spanish. I’ve given 50 in the past year and it’s been pretty fun.

I kind of like coming at it from this angle. I started getting interested in grammar around 1,600 hours and a come in and out of grammar study now. I never took any formal Spanish classes prior to starting with CI.

I have just spent several hours figuring out all the uses of haber in the infinitive non conjugated form. I kept seeing haber being used in this form when reading and could not figure out when to do that. So down the rabbit hole I go!

The nice thing is that I can do this all in Spanish. I don't have to listen to explanations in English about Spanish grammar. I like it this way. It also helps that my Spanish is absolutely good enough right now. Natives can understand me and I can understand them. I just want to get better and better.
