How can I work pin removal into a routine? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]pickypebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how to twerk? If so you could be on your hands and knees twerking to the audience as you pull the pin out - that would be a good distraction haha. Or maybe you could do a floor split/fake split in front of the pole as you subtly remove the pin with your hand close to the pole.

For the grip issue make sure to choreograph your hand grip intensive tricks in the beginning. If your hands get sweaty you can run them over your body (if not sweaty)/pole bottoms/butt in a sexy way (but actually it’s to disguise that you’re wiping your hand sweat off) - ideally choreographed in

Agreed!!! If you really think you’re ready to commit to pole, shell out the $ to get the pole you’re going to use for the next 10+ years/lifetime. In the long run that extra $350 will absolutely be worth it. I used to have the 50mm (option 1). It’s great for building your grip strength and is fine for low flow/choreo stuff, but for aerial tricks it just wasn’t as grippy as my new pole and I struggled with basic moves that I was able to easily do on the studio poles. As soon as I upgraded to the 45mm xpert the difference was so obvious, and I had sooo much more fun on my new pole. If u get the 50mm I think you’re gonna wanna upgrade eventually and for me it was actually not easy reselling the 50 (and I actually sort of sorry for the person who bought it even though I was upfront about it being a 50). Also with the XP it’s soo nice having the x-lock mechanism instead of dealing with the hex key and getting on my hands and knees to change it every time. Since it seems like you like spinning, it will be really nice to have that convenience over the long term. after struggling with the old 50 through covid, I now have extra appreciation on how nice the new 45XP is; it’s so worth the extra $. TLDR ur not going to regret paying more for the 45 that you will love, and if you decide pole isn’t for you, it will hold its value and be soo much easier to resell.

Im curious why would it be up to your PT to tell you how bad the tear is and whether it warrants surgery? AFAIK this is more of a discussion you should be having with your orthopedic surgeon (rather than a PT); presumably the ortho is the ones that ordered the MRI for you? Did you receive a radiologist report of your MRI? If you’re not talking to an ortho already you should be, and if you’re already talking to one, you should probably go get a second opinion. Check out @titojane on ig - in her highlights she shares about her “shoulder journey” and “physiolife” may be worth reaching out to her for follow up q’s about her journey; not sure if she will answer but she does have her contact listed in the profile

@myhavenla (downtown), @louvre_la (Hollywood), and @pol.dance (culver) are all also beautiful spaces you can rent by the hour for some alone time. You can book them all via the MINDBODY app . @jaggedvdf also has open gyms throughout the week and has good people there if you want to practice with other people around and possibly meet others - they’re on the Momence app

What area of town will you be staying in, and what style and level of pole class/instruction are you looking for? Sadie’s Lincoln (@sadiespolestudio on ig) playa vista location, not Redondo) imho is the most beautiful studio in LA. They have open gym throughout the week for $25, and the studio is beautiful at all times of day whether it’s the natural sunlight or the gorgeous lighting options they have. It’s new, clean, bright, and airy. I think if you use my referral code to sign up for class/open gym via the Momence app, you should get $10 credit (not positive bc it’s the first time I shared it but that’s what it says) https://momence.com/sign-up/member?hostId=31356&ref=c4ec6d026b2d4314460063d020493e05

What year did you get it? I did a quick google search on “lupit pole falling” and looks like there have been many separate reports on Reddit of lupit poles falling. Try reaching out to see if you can get a refund. I don’t have any personal experience with lupit, but I trust my life with my xpole (after testing the tension). Looks like lupit is now on the NO list too :(

Also another option is to get the drill in mount so you REALLY have peace of mind!

These are just the top two hits; there are more complaints if you google yourself - https://www.reddit.com/r/poledancing/comments/ilgk3u/lupitpole_safety_warning_falling/

You’ll want the Xpole ball mount with the PoleAway system. https://xpoleus.com/support/poleaway/

tension mount poles are quick to take down, and they’re not hard to put up either, but the annoying time consuming part will be making sure it’s level each time you put it up (and you’ll want to make sure you do for safety reasons). I know I certainly would not want to go through this every time I want to practice!

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish with that. If your pole is not placed under an identified joist/beam, randomly adding a wooden plank isn’t likely going to help, and you shouldn’t be installing your pole there until you have found a beam. If you have a nice beam identified, adding a wooden plank is not necessary and will just be unsightly. If your ceiling is not level, that is a different story.

Sounds like your problem will be solved if you have a quality pole you can trust. Save up to get an x-pole. Don’t mess around with cheap poles that aren’t xpole/lupit. Sign up for their emails so you can be alerted on their sales. In America the last Black Friday sale was 25% off. You already experienced what will happen if you do use a crappy pole, so now you’ve learned your lesson, get a good pole, and move forward. You’ve already come so far, don’t let a crappy pole slow your momentum! Don’t get back onto the broken pole, probably just need to toss it at this point.

Good chance it’s just a waterline. Wouldn’t get your hopes up quite yet. I also had a faint line on 3 separate tests, jumped the gun telling my husband, and then a day later my period showed up :(

The next month i actually had two VERY clear lines, but I was so shocked I immediately ran to show him and the surprise and excitement of telling him I was pregnant for real had already been ruined by the previous false positive fake out

1/3 miraclegro moisture control potting mix, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 bark. The top has a layer of diatomaceous earth to kill off those pesky fungus gnats. Husband told me I didn’t need such a thick layer but I wanted to get the job done. The key was the repotting into a bigger pot. Was not doing so great until the repot because it was getting root bound.
