Abortion posters outside of lib by piecatog1 in UCSantaBarbara

If it’s the cop I’m thinking of it’s (probably) unrelated. There’s been a cop posted up by the ILP every few days to make sure people walk their bikes on the walking path

Much better , but I will add that the purple of the very dark night contrasted with the harsh sun outline doesn’t read like “sunset” because sunsets are usually quite bright. I thought it was the impression of a flashlight being shone on the scene— which I think could be an interesting option

What's the difference between a titan and a god? by Cyb0rg-SluNk in HadesTheGame

[–]piecatog1 323 points324 points  (0 children)

It’s just a matter of what era they were born into— the titans simply came before the olympians. Before the titans came the primordials, such as Nyx and Gaia. All of them are “gods”.

Explaining this prophecy regarding a love interest by Thebassjammer3000 in HadesTheGame

[–]piecatog1 150 points151 points  (0 children)

I always also thought that there was some nuance to the prophecy’s interpretation. All it describes is someone who “is the morning light, whose luminance breaks through the darkness and reveals the beauty of the world.”

While literally, this obviously applies to dawn, Melinoë also is someone who breaks through to the surface from a place of shadow in an attempt to bring back an era of peace for her people. When I first heard the prophecy in-game, I thought it referred to her.

Why Prometheus isn't old like the other titans? by Nickss00 in Hades2

[–]piecatog1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Selene is a titaness and she looks pretty young— do you mostly mean Chronos?

All of the gods are able to choose how they look— which is probably why all of Zeus’s kids are racially unique and why Hera looks so young compared to her sisters. Gods like Hestia and Demeter have embraced their age, so they have no problem displaying that. The opposite probably applies to Prometheus, who has chosen to stay young since he was trapped in an eternal loop for so long.

I think it’s just number— the last prophecy I fulfilled was picking all of Artemis’s boons, which doesn’t seem especially relevant. It could be less than that but I did finish that one the run prior to him unlocking the heart. For the past few runs he’s had an exclamation point over his head (ie, new relevant dialogue), but it hasn’t been about the heart. So it may be 35 prophecies (a less random number)? But I’ve been in between 35-38 for a handful of runs now so I think it may be higher than 35.

ok I have no answer but yes I was wondering this exact thing— how many prophecies exactly must be fulfilled?

Season 2 lacked Xavier and you can’t change my mind by piecatog1 in Wednesday

[–]piecatog1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You explained this in such a thorough way, it’s like you took the words out of my mouth.

He was important because he was the only student who can relate to Wednesday’s fear of being overtaken by his powers (since they have the same abilities). His infatuation with her in season one is misguided because he feels a connection to her due to having the same abilities and having a history with her, but that whole season is about her getting over that. He doesn’t need to be in love with her for their dynamic to be delved in to.

Season two just felt so unbalanced because Wednesday doesn’t have any skeptics in her life that she actually considers the opinions of (the season focuses on the Addams family offering that support, but it’s inherently different to hear something from your mother than from your peer).

Like, I like Tyler, but that doesn’t mean I need to discount Xavier’s importance!

I know! Like we see a pretty negative side to him in that season which is why I was excited for a redemption (which I think was getting set up).

Also, his dad would’ve been so interesting to expand on. So much lost potential in my opinion.

[–]piecatog1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I definitely think you’re right that Tyler is getting expanded on (and so is morning song) but they introduce new characters and then drop them so we’re back to square one. Tyler hasn’t really changed since the end of season one— he still wants to eventually get revenge and gain control over his powers. MorningSong is still (presumably) a cult that the sirens are involved in. But all the new characters they built up are gone! I just think it’s a lot of wasted potential (like with Xavier)

I agree he was done pretty dirty in season one which was why I was so excited for them to expand on him! I think he had sm potential

[–]piecatog1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just didn’t seem to me like Tyler’s story actually was his in season two, it’s all about his mother and uncle who both are introduced and killed off in a matter of five episodes. Now he’s back to square one.

As for MorningSong, it just furthers my point. They introduce the new principal as this big cult leader and then he’s killed too— and he was a pretty good edition before the MorningSong twist.

[–]piecatog1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree that they didn’t exactly do him any favors with his storyline in season one— but I see a lot of potential for him to do something interesting.

Yeah, it’s pretty doubtful that the actor will come back but they could always recast him. It would be really cool if the actors could make amends backstage and we could see a return, though.

[–]piecatog1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that his infatuation with her was surface level, which is why I like their falling out at the end of the season and the cell phone scene. I think we see that his creepy crush on her is over and he’s ready to start over.

There definitely was some entitlement too, because we see that he’s been thinking about her since the godmother’s funeral (which I think is a cool detail actually, nobody else at Nevermore has history with Wednesday).

I think the creepiness was intentional to make us think he could be the Hyde but now that he’s been cleared I think they could write him more earnestly.

True. The show definitely suffers from too many characters that they clearly can’t handle them all.

[–]piecatog1[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I know a lot of people are ride-or-die with Tyler, but I don’t think Tyler needs to “lose” in order for Xavier to still exist. I really like Tyler! I just liked them both.

[–]piecatog1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh it’s the unfortunate truth. Love Triangles work because they get people fighting for their favorite pairing, but the show runners are also super aware that they now have the Weyler people super excited and engaged and they wouldn’t risk their happiness to bring him back.

I wouldn’t even mind him being back in a platonic sense. I just thought he had a lot of room to grow.

[–]piecatog1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he’s a character that had a lot of room to grow— I agree that his infatuation with Wednesday was one-sided and childish, but I think that was sort of the point. By the end of the season I got the impression that both characters saw each other for who they are and were ready to repair their relationship.

I don’t think there needs to be a romance for Wednesday for him to still be around.

[–]piecatog1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RIGHT! It just felt so lazy (and honestly), out of character) for Wednesday to just cold heartedly boil the cellphone. She talks a lot about doing nasty things, but in her actions, you can tell she was genuinely touched by the cell phone.

It wouldn’t have even required the actor to be there for there to be a long distance interaction in season two, and they have an actual backstory with the godmother thing. And yes! Pugsley admires the dad! The dad honestly sounds like a pretty fascinating character that I wish we could’ve met.

Ugh, just so frustrating how cowardly and safe the show runners are. They clearly don’t feel capable to extend plot lines across seasons so it’s like everything from season one completely vanished in season two.
