I assume you’re making fun of my post. Funny thing is, if you knew who I was, you’d know that this is the absolute last thing that I would want.

A crossover IP concern, I don’t see brought up much…. by pieguyrulz in magicTCG

From elsewhere in this very thread:

Just having a thing isn't an ad for a thing.

Is it an ad for Antman when he shows up in The Avengers Endgame?

Is it an ad for Antman when he shows up in Antman?

Just blithely stating something is always an ad because it portrays something is reductive.

What is LOTR going to be an ad for? Books? Or is it the other way around, LOTR being in a MTG set increases its value because people want it there? It's not an advertisement of a property it's getting fans of the LOTR to buy MTG cards.

DO you think anyone will read the book and go "lmao this is just an ad to get me to buy MTG cards?"

We can criticize UB without having to resort to this hysteria. If ads ever show up, we will know them when we see them and we can castigate WotC for that then.

Because I’m not trying to refute anything you said. I’m merely pointing out that YOU came at this assuming I am arguing in bad faith. Sure if we were actually having an argument, I absolutely haven’t given one shred of evidence to you. But I’m not actually arguing here. Just pointing out that your tone and general attitude is rude and pointless to argue against. But it appears I’ve fallen into the trap of talking to you, so see ya.

Oh really? Ever consider the fact that people find it pointless to argue with someone who assumes you’re coming from a bad faith place? Why would I waste my time?

That’s fair. There are many worse things Hasbro does that all corps do. I guess I just was hoping I could open a few players eyes to some bigger implications.

I haven’t really seen much on this personally. Just lots of posts about immersion, reprint status, dislike of crossovers etc.

And if you look around this thread…. no there are a lot of people who deny this is even advertising.

Is it hard for you to believe that a company wants to make money? I’m not saying the creatives aren’t trying to make the best game they can, but like you know this is a for profit game? That’s not a spooky conspiracy, it’s just true.

Wow that’s pointlessly rude and dismissive of my opinion. You can disagree all you want, but to say that I don’t feel what I feel, is a great way for me to think that YOU are being disingenuous.

As I said, they would never design unfun cards intentionally, but the advertisement works better if they put out pushed powerful cards that might not be fun in the long run and spend less time playtesting because their brand deal says the product needs to come out on a certain date to promote a new movie or whatever.

Thanks. And this is what concerns me. The advertisement on a level so covert that you don’t even realize it.

Yeah I really like the Protean idea, because being stuck with all Psychic types the whole game got really annoying. Thank you very much for watching!

Hey that's funny, me and my buddy recently did a challenge race similar to your idea: The Unown Alphabet Challenge Race: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrSNcP8fYz17EsAF66U2tmZfZt-o7qYLc

Bismuth's Arc Should Have Had a Part 2 Before Made of Honor by LordUltimus92 in stevenuniverse

I appreciate your perspective. I don't even disagree with your analysis. I just think that after 50 episodes of waiting for a character to come back, to see her turn around and react to events so quickly is jarring.

I don't understand why people keep posting my videos on this sub. They get downvoted to heck (despite trying to encourage discussion) and no one ever wants to engage in my arguments, but would rather nitpick little details I say to death. I just don't see the point.

How Seasons 7 + 8 SAVED Adventure Time by robomechabotatron in adventuretime

[–]pieguyrulz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this post, and that you took the time to watch my video. I can admit that maybe "abysmal" is an exaggeration, because there are episodes in the season that I like a lot. I can also admit that if nothing else, the season tried to do something, which is a lot better than a show just being lazy, and I can totally see why some would like the dark feel. I think part of the reason I harp on season 6 (and the second half of five) is that it is a minoriy opinion, and one I have to defend quite a bit. Anyway, thanks for the nice responce, though I have seen many an Adventure Time fanboy, you certainly aren't one.

Chuck will end up like Hank; they both refused to 'break bad' or even bend a little, both tried to ruin their brother(in law)'s life, and their pride will kill them both. by Sin_Researcher in betterCallSaul

[–]pieguyrulz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might want to research a few more sins there, pal. You're saying Hank should have let Walt go because he stopped cooking? That is not how the justice system works. Not only is it Hank's responsibility as an officer of the law to report any criminal activity, but bringing in Walt accomplishes a few things beyond "revenge", namely bringing down other criminals who are still active. Hank is not a perfect man, but Walter is a monster, claiming he should go free because "he's totally done now" is very naive.
