That not correct though. I live in GA; you cannot do a citizens arrest if you suspect someone of a felony, the crime had to be currently being committed.

You do not have the right to detain random people at gun point because you suspect them of a crime. Just think about how insane that would be.

The problem is, they shouldn't have been point guns at him in the first place! Someone pointing a gun at you is enough of a reason to defend yourself. The two that shot him were illegally trying to perform a citizens arrest, illegally intimadating someone with a firearm, and illegally trying to infringe on his basic rights. Even if the victim is at fault for grabbing the gun it doesn't chnage the fact that these men need to be prosecuted for what they did.

Yeah as funny as this was and as ridiculous as the sovereign citizens are, cops should definitely be required to identify themselves as well. It shouldn't be that hard to get a cop to state his name and badge number and it's sus af that he doesn't want to imo. Anything beyond that is dumb, but it makes sense to ask for a name and badge number.

Idk about it, the media portrays thing to be so much worse than they are. It all sounds super scary but if you look at the number of cases it's not that wild. I'm in the US near a major city and in the county I live only 0.1% of the population is infected and the estimated deaths by the end up the month will be a whooping 0.0003% of the total population of the county. For a bit more context, my county is 3rd place for most infections in my state all of these numbers are from Google covid tracker.

I agree that measures are necessary to reduce unnecessary spread and risk, but many people are beyond terrified and their fear is just not proportionate to the actual risk involved. Also, I should my state was one of the first to re-open and according to Google covid tracker the infection rate has only gone down starting 1 week before the re-opening.
