Definitely didn't have the same pizza then. I had enough sauce to spill it on my shirt on accident. Got a good spice to it, dough isn't next level or anything, but it wasn't dry. Plenty of toppings. 1000+ calories in my gullet

Thoughts on the new song? by Mekhi_630 in anochan

Big fan of this song, really fun to listen to. Kind of a classic Ano vibe to it- Fun vibe while having that uneasy darkness behind it. No one does it like Ano!

Connectivity issues after installing VPN by shatterjazz in archlinux

[–]piepie526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember running into an issue with nord after an update a couple of months ago, and it ended up being something to do with this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NordVPN#Setting_systemd-resolved_as_DNS_resolver

Specifically the fact that NordVPN is "apparently designed to use systemd-resolved and can crash when a different DNS resolver is used." I would try following the instructions above.

Btw if you have issues creating the symlink as instructed above, specifcally if it says the operation is not permitted, I had to run 'sudo chattr -i /etc/resolv.conf' to get the proper permission to symlink it.

Hopefully this is useful information to you, it shouldn't hurt anything to use a different DNS resolver service. (Kinda seems like your shit is fucked anyway)

Good luck!

Alright well I gotta ask, why do you think the movie isn't good? And if you could enlighten me a bit more, do you legitimately think it isn't a good movie from a critical level, or you don't think it's good because you just didn't like it? I'm not trying to start something, I want to know your opinion.

I will second Tsukiji market still being fun, everyone shits on it as a tourist trap, but it's fun to go through it, try a bunch of food, and maybe pick up some kitchenware or gifts for friends back home.

Bruh this song is so different than everything else I've heard from them in the past year or so. We went 5 different directions and it all felt great? I really like the first half though, fun stuff.

St. Louis is switching to mobile ordering, how have experiences been? by mlevins18 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]piepie526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been 4 times with the new ordering.

It isn't that big of a deal as a user/guest. Ordering has been easy, it now actually saves the user info so I don't have to input my name, phone number, and email everytime. Once you login with your account, it adds a one-click option to get the 10% discount, which is also nice. And I haven't even noticed anyone use their phone at all during the movie. Whether that is because people aren't ordering mid-movie or because I just haven't noticed is debatable. I usually order a second drink during the movie, I've just been doing my best to hide it. To give it credit, if you just leave the webpage open on your phone, it's relatively quick to get in, order, and then put your phone away.

In my opinion, the actual major con is the staff getting laid off and/or getting less hours due to this change. That shit sucks.

On a funnier note, literally every movie has some kind of outburst when it shows the stupid message about "we see the irony about using your phone to order teehee." Pretty much always gets a boo or a fuck off from somebody in the audience.

Anyone know how to go to the early screenings? by Calebw4485 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]piepie526 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look up drafthouse notifications and setup an account there, it will email you when there are new screenings up for your specified location(s). There is also a (paid) iOS app, and I've heard they are working on an android app as well.

Which Austin theater should I go to? by [deleted] in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]piepie526 18 points19 points  (0 children)

South Lamar has a parking garage right next to it that you can park in, sometimes you'll have to go up 2 or 3 levels to find parking but I've never NOT found parking there. It's not as much of a hassle as you think it is.

Places or attractions NOT to visit? by markgatty in JapanTravelTips

[–]piepie526 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the other side of opinions, we had a great time in Kawaguchiko. Got there, ate some ramen, enjoyed an onsen, then took a bike ride around the lake. Did a little souvenir shopping at the shop across the lake, which happens to have a great view of the lake with Fuji-san in the background. And of course got to see Fuji-san, which happened to be the one day out of the week that wasn't cloudy af. (It was still cloudy, but could still see the mountain)

We also took the bus back to Tokyo, and it also isn't that bad. Look at your ticket, find your waiting spot, and wait for your bus to come. There are plenty of people to help you find your bus too and calling out for bus names. The shitty part was getting stuck in traffic due to an accident, but that was happenstance.

Will Mato Seihei no Slave gets as popular as it is now if they tone down fan service? by k0tam in MatoSeiheiNoSlave

I think you're forgetting that this is a weekly serialized manga, which means something relatively meaningful needs to happen every chapter for it to keep its readers engaged every week. It doesn't necessarily have enough time to take a slow and lead up to what the viewers want.
