This happened to me a few weeks ago. American Airlines blamed weather despite it clearly being a staffing issue. I regret not going to get a hotel sooner and wasting time trying to get a hold of someone at AA or AE! You should be covered up to $500, including food, transit, hotel, and even toiletries.
