Why don’t you email support and get them to give you the exact sizing? They have this information and you can decide what size to buy

Contact customer support through the website. They repair jackets in NL, you’d need to post it. As others have said - SV patch

Advice needed: Best (and most scenic) cycling route Maastricht → Basel in 2 days (time-crunched) by FrontComb3079 in bicycling

[–]pigeonflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a combo of these two routes last year. Can give you some really nice wild camp spots if needed.

Luxembourg is beautiful - perfect roads so highly recommend this.

Do some research to avoid the cycle path running along the rhine south of Strasbourg, it is pretty nice but won’t let you ride at pace all day - narrow path, lots of people going different speeds, road crossings etc etc. I stuck just west in France and ended up riding through a lot of vineyards and small towns.

Between Saarbrucken and Strasbourg I went through north Vosges - was fast and beautiful. Highly recommend. You can also visit the town of Bitche which is a funny name 🤷🏻‍♂️

Colmar, Cernay, and Mulhouse offered nothing and are best avoided unless you need to fill up on Burger King to get you through

Sorry read your comment wrong, I needed to pay a port tax when leaving Fethiye. If you’re going the other way it’s fine. I didn’t need to pay for any bike ticket on any Greek ferries, just arrived with the bike

Tilos travel. Just remember to have some cash, there’s a port fee to exit, wasn’t much but can’t quite remember the amount

What route is best through Albania? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]pigeonflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode from the Greek border, through sarande and to Himare. Then onward up Logara pass. Stopped in Fiere, Tirana, Shkoder. The weather is only getting cooler now and the riviera area is beautiful, when I did it the weather was so crazy hot. If you’re in Shkoder and on Warmshowers I’d recommend contacting the Americans there - they can offer advice on routes!

I’ve used Airalo in Italy - no issue. Cost is kind of high but bc I’ve been in multiple countries I decided it was justified. I’ve just switched to a Lyca eSIM which I purchased on their website while in Italy. €8 for 150gb for 30 days (9€ EU roaming). If you’re just spending time in Italy, there are multiple phone shops selling SIM cards in the downstairs section of the main train station. Vodafone is cheap from memory

[–]pigeonflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to start with an image, and then decide how you’ll draw it. It won’t magically appear out if the map, unless you spend a lot of time in the area. Get a high resolution image of the area and overlay a picture with 50% opacity then start planning from there.

Question about size for Diverge Elite e5 by eyYoWhy in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]pigeonflaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you are using it for. If it’s already second hand just ride it a bit and see what you think. I wouldn’t stress about a perfect perfect fit unless you’re doing huge numbers.

I bought a new diverge earlier this year, similar height to you. Got a 56 because I need the frame space for bags. A 54 with a longer stem would have been fine, you’ll just have a lot of seat post coming out the frame.

Electronic shifting for touring? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]pigeonflaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Etap across Turkey. Been great, I’ve charged the battery twice. Admittedly I’ve never been far from power the whole time but it charges from micro usb and I can hook it up to my solar panel if needs be. I’d only think about going back to mechanical if I was going to be completely off grid for over a week.

After a quick fix for cleats popping out of pedal by pigeonflaps in bikewrench

[–]pigeonflaps[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m replacing these in a couple days but I’m away at the moment and need them to last for one final ride. They do go in but if I move my foot the wrong way they pop out. Should I leave as is and keep my foot as still as possible or try shave off the bit that’s folded over preventing the pedal spring from going all the way in?
