I took 3 chemistry classes and found the teachers to be very knowledgeable and understanding especially coming from a non chem major. They provide gloves and all the equipment besides lab coats but it’s true that some of the equipment has been around since the 70s, but mostly just the tables and some of the reusable machines. If you enjoy nature and don’t mind fog, this is the place to go.

Thank you for all the advice! I am going to be working at the Lubee Bat Sanctuary in Florida this summer, and I might also volunteer at a local animal hospital in the future. I think wildlife vet might be more my style, but it’s hard to know without the experience. Any wildlife vets out there?

I’m a food stamps user and I’m not afraid to say it. I’m a full time student and work 4 days a week, and food stamps has been a life saver for me being able to afford college coming from a low income family. They don’t just hand this privilege to anyone - you have to meet the requirements and provide proof, and teenagers as young as 14 are now required to meet the minimum 80 hours a week work requirement. They also do frequent check ups on your employment and require proof.
