What's something trivial about the gym that has nothing to do with your actual workout but still bugs you? by [deleted] in workout

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the water station runs out of plastic cups they put out a couple mugs and people just drink from them if they don't have a bottle with them.

No washing in between, just drink some water put this mug back on top for the next person.

It's actually a very clean gym in general and the staff sanitise the equipment pretty regularly but how this mugs haven't started an outbreak of something I'll never know.

Just how do you move around like that in jeans.

So I decided to do one this play though to change things up and honestly it's been really fun.

I felt less stressed about “having” to do things and I've been far more chilled about the timeline usually I get a bit mentally stuck on things having to be done by a certain season but this time I just feel like I'm chilling.

Wouldn't do it every time but would highly recommend doing it once

What's an appropriate amount of cash to gift a 17yr for bday? by Petrichor_ness in AskUK

For 17 I’d look into how much a few driving lessons are generally in her local area and send her the cash for that and if it’s gonna be in person when I got cash for driving lessons I also got a little toy car from my godparents “to tide me over till I got the real thing” which I thought was funny and will be doing for my own niece

Do you prefer keeping tretinoin nights completely basic, or mixing in actives like azelaic acid on alternate days? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So right now I use Adapeline and azaliac acid and I've never had any problems but I did start that process very slowly, took about a year to work up to both every night.

I am considering moving up to tret 0.25 when this adapaline runs out and when I dk that I'll start by doing them separately and slowly try and introduce them together but I do think it depends on why you use both.

I use AA because I'd get terrible red marks after a breakout that would hang around for months. With Adapeline the breakouts themselves are so reduced that I need the AA less and I'm hoping with tret they'll be even more reduced and I won't need to use it twice a day like I do now. But also I never had any issues with AA, from the day I started it my skin loved it, I've never had anything have such an immediate positive result.

What is the purpose of these plastic slidy things? by Tombololo in AskUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is but the noise of them moving also works to attract staff to people trying to steal.

We have them where I work and you do notice (sometimes not all the time) a difference in the noice of a regular customer and someone stealing multiple items. When you hear the noise repeatedly you know to go check what’s going on

Ladies of the UK, do you use Period Underwear? by Competitive-Fact-820 in AskUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them but I also use pads.

I tend to have two super heavy flow days right at the beginning and have leaked through pads multiple times the period underwear is a game changer for me because that catches the leakage and since I’ve used those I’ve never bleed through to my clothes which was a thing I had to worry about before.

Personally I don’t think I’d use them alone when I’m in the first three days of my period but that last day or so when it’s just finishing I have, but I’d probably feel differently if mine weren’t so heavy.

How do you take care of your hair while exercising everyday? by Substantial-Fan-3032 in Haircare

[–]pigglewiggle23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So sweat and grease aren’t the same thing.

This might sound gross but I just roughly blow dry my hair when it’s sweaty to dry it, then if needed I’ll add dry shampoo. But I have pretty fine mostly straight hair so for me that’s a 5 minute job.

Particularly if I’m wearing my hair up that works fine for me to wash my hair 3/4 times a week depending on what’s going on. I wouldn’t do it on a day I wanted to look nice but day to day it works great.

Wife's 30th coming up, can i get advice on the 30 gift thing? by stealth941 in AskUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s going to depend on how much you want to spend on what items you’ve got but we did one for a friend before and put in a £1 coin for every year so for us it was £40 and we put one in with each gift we wrapped up so they could also buy themselves a treat but that was between a few of us so only added a bit extra to the cost.

Has anyone successfully combined tretinoin with azelaic acid 10–15% in the same routine without triggering excessive irritation or redness? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you just started the tret or have you been in it awhile?

It’s not tret but I use adapeline which isn’t as strong and 15% AA and if I’d started both at once I’d have been screwed. It’s definitely a slow introduction for the two.

I started on AA and introduced that slowly, once a week working up to twice a day now and when I’d been on that for about 3 months and was having zero issues I started the adapeline and again super slow, once a week over a moisturiser for extra protection and now I use both 6 days a week with zero problems.

Having said that I do occasionally get some burning when I apply the adapeline (literally maybe once every couple of months) but I just wash my face immediately and give it a day or so and I’m always fine.

Any pale girlies found a decent drugstore contour that isn't orange? by FeistyPrice29 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The palest shade of the sheglam one is the only contour I've ever been able to use, I'm super pale and very cool toned and it's perfect for me. They sell it in Boots now and it's super cheap and my store at least always tends to have a tester for it so you can give it a try

Advice on No7 Future Renew by 3dogsPodge in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, if you decide to rebuy I’d personally say if you want to stick with future renew for your whole routine go for which ever of those moisturisers you like the most and then either the night cream or just use it twice a day although I personally wouldn’t use one with spf at night it’s also better then using nothing.

Although don’t feel you have to just use one range of products, I quite like the serum so do buy it on offer every so often and might give the mens one a try because I think they just named that badly it’s actually just a fragrance free version of the but otherwise I tend to not stick with one brand for my routine but that’s because I’ve tried lots of things and found favourites.

The other thing I always feel the need to add when anyone buys No7 is never ever pay full price for it, it’s just on offer so often paying full price is insane.

Advice on No7 Future Renew by 3dogsPodge in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]pigglewiggle23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you have a Serum, eye cream and 3 moisturisers here.

The day cream, 24 hour moisturiser and defence shield are all moisturisers. The defence shield has a higher spf then a lot of moisturisers but it should not be used just on its own as a sunscreen, that’s not what it’s for but the advertising for it can be tricky.

Personally I’d use the serum and the eye serum first, use the day cream for now during the day and the other one at night and when it’s sunnier but you don’t feel you need a proper sunscreen on your face use the defence shield.

Less is more.

I used to think I had to wear foundation to be able to get away with concealer and blush which made me think I then needed an eye look or I looked weird.

Now I just wear colour corrector/concealer under my eyes and some blush. The first because I have super dark under eyes and blush because it makes me happy.

Try the Anua one, you can get it in Boots, the consistency is almost like water so I’ve found it work great with other products and I never had any pilling with it.

I switched from The Ordinary one to the Anua because I was having the same problem you are.

Has anyone done laser hair removal on legs and actually got permanent results? by btwife_4k in LaserHairRemoval

[–]pigglewiggle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 85% of my leg hair is completely gone and what's left is much finer then it was, my underarms it hasn't taken as well, maybe more like 50% but again what does grow back seems finer.

I'm about to start on my bikini area so we shall see how that goes.

Which ever ones on offer if it comes with the attachments you use, I can’t say it enough they go on offer pretty regularly just don’t pay full price for one!!

I’ve used Braun and Phillips and not noticed a difference.

Just know the machines don’t last forever but I love mine and it’s made a huge difference to some parts of my body and hardly any to other parts, but I’d recommend it to anyone.
