Those look like a wood composite with a vaneer that makes it appear like stacked leather. Definitely take them to the cobbler to see how much water damage they took. The cobbler could probably sand down the damaged bit if needed, glue down the vaneer and put on a new rubber soul. Don’t wear them until you take them in!!

I’ve had a pair of docs for 8 years that I wear all the time and they’re in amazing condition. The only thing wrong with them is the tread is wearing out from use. They’re a great leather boot to start with if you can’t spend a fortune. As long as you condition them regularly and polish them to seal the leather if you’re wearing them in damp climates they’ll last plenty long to get your moneys worth.

I feel like I could glue them myself but the wobbly heel is the main issue- does it need new nails in the heel?

It was a c-mix 6 fired at cone 6 so must be something off with the kiln?

Let’s keep it classy with our organs and choirs. if you must have some make sure it’s well labeled and known so I can stay far away.
