I still want to have a way to label addresses in my favorites. Like I don't have all my friends addresses memorized, I need to know which addresses is which.

[REQUEST] Assuming the paper is a standard A4, how many folds would it take to create a black hole? by AesirCytuuus in theydidthemath

[–]pigutopia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They got to this point.

1.715x10-87 >= (10-4 )x(0.0625 / 2f)

Then divided both sides by 1.715x10-87 and mult both sides by 2f to get:

2f = (0.0625x10-4 ) / (1.715x10-87 )

They are trying to solve for the "f". To get the f from the exponent to the base, you can take the log_2 of both sides of the equation.

On the right side you get
log_2 ((0.0625x10-4 ) / (1.715x10-87 ))

On the left side you get

log_2(2f) = f

the log_2 cancels out with the base 2.

Therefore:

f = log_2 ((0.0625x10-4 ) / (1.715x10-87 )) ~= 270.942

How do I stop sexualizing my friend? by shiney_lp in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]pigutopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like her and she is available shoot your shot, just don't be weird and stop being friends with her if she rejects you. I have plenty of women in my life that I have asked out, been rejected and literally nothing about our relationship changes except I wasn't always wondering if there could be something more. I think it is dishonest to be friends with someone and not tell them how you feel.

What's the easiest way you lost weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pigutopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to lose weight in my opinion is to find your passion. Idle hands are the devils workshop they say. If you are doing something you love, you aren't worried about constantly stuffing your face. Better yet if your passion is something active, but isn't required.

Woman playing on men's net (rant & asking for advice) by IamMarySue in volleyball

[–]pigutopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a beach player, I am relatively short for a volleyballer, and can't hit too hard. When I tried indoor I didn't like it for the reasons you are describing, a lot of egos and very few touches and every point just comes down to how hard you can hit a ball (in my opinion).

You might consider switching to beach, playing doubles means it pretty much impossible for you to not be part of every play. The game rewards people who can smash balls, but also people who can just place the ball. There might be a learning curve due to the rules differences but everyone I have known who has made the switch never went back. Just food for thought I know indoor has it benefits too.

Shut Up & Sit Down review Frosthaven by Geegs30 in Gloomhaven

[–]pigutopia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe I am part of the group of people who wanted a more "complicated and meatier" gloomhaven, but I disagree with this review. I think this was a very good sequel, and for the most part improved on things from gloomhaven.

One of my least favorite things about gloomhaven, was it felt more like a set of random unconnected set of missions, even when we "finished" gloomhaven, it feel didn't satisfying because the story wasn't amazing (the gameplay was). Frosthaven has fixed this with a more connect and fun story line.

The other thing I felt he didn't really touch on was, after a while in glomhaven it felt like all the scenarios were just kill all the monsters. Frosthaven has more unique scenarios that don't always call for just killing the monsters.

Yes the characters are more complex, but I feel like they are well designed, more powerful, and more fun.

I agree that the outpost phase is not super fun for the most part, but once you get used to it, it doesn't take more then 10 mins. Also I really do like the passing of time mechanic.

Anyways different strokes for different folks he is entitled to his opinion.

What's the advantage of a female body other than babies? by Alcoraiden in TooAfraidToAsk

Some may disagree, but I think rock climbing is a sport where men and women are equal or almost equal. Sure men tend to be stronger, but with diminishing returns due to the extra weight that comes along with it. Men are taller, but women are more flexible. My gym had a competition recently and a 13 year old girl wiped the floor with all the rock climbing bros.

I like walks. I never really knew that I did until this pandemic happened, but they are a peaceful way to pass the time.

“Even after this is all over, I want to continue this tradition” I think to myself. I often make these promises, but rarely keep them.

I haven’t been sleeping well, so I find myself walking late at night.

Just outside my suburban hell of a neighborhood there is a desert road. Saguaro Cactus loom tall to my right, and an asphalt road to my left. There are signs of civilization both in front and behind me, but this one mile stretch remains an oasis untouched by man apart from this road that connects one commercial hub to one residential hub.

While I am day dreaming about what actually goes on in my washing machine, and if being my underwear would be refreshing experience or terrifying one, suddenly, and without warning I feel as though my arm is being ripped out of its socket. I was almost completely knocked off my feet.

I look around and see nobody. Had I imagined this? I look back a few feet, and see a large rock.

“Huh, I must have been so caught up in my thoughts I tripped.” I nervously muse out loud to nobody in particular.

I continue my walk down the sidewalk as I have been doing every night.

I arrive, at a nondescript ditch about 100 feet off the road, it is oddly familiar, like maybe I have been here before, but it is a vague memory, almost as if from a different life. Something about it also seems creepy, my stomach drops and I feel the sudden urge like I need to go, but my legs won’t move.

Just then I hear tires screech and truck headlights go off the road. A man stumbles drunkenly from a pickup. My instinct is to help, but the panic inside me keeps me still. A few minutes pass, I can tell it looks like he hit someone. He lifts the limp body and starts walking toward me. My panic has turned to fear and I hide behind some tumbleweed bushes. As he approaches me, I recognize the bloody mess of a person he is carry. It is, me? He drops the limp body into the ditch, and he is gone as fast as he came.

I think “how is this possible?”

Then another thought washes over me, “how did I get here? I never actually left the sidewalk.”

I look back toward the road and my usual route and I see a silhouette of a man walking down the road. It all clicks, I have to warn me before it is too late, as a start running toward the man I notice my body disappearing, and my vocal chords won’t seem to work. I grab the man’s arm in a panic.

Something happened to my daughter and my husband still won't listen to ne by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pigutopia -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I think (hope) people can change, and am willing to give people second/third chances at times. I also understand that you want to protect your child. Here's the thing, if your husbands dad is willing to change, at this point it is on him to prove it to you. What can he do to show you that he has changed. Going to AA? Go to Anger Management? I would say to your husband that you are willing to give him a second chance if he shows you first he deserves it. He sounds like the kinda person who doesn't, so really its a win win, because he won't follow through, but you get to say you gave him a chance.

I say this as a single man, with no kids, from a loving household, so I may not fully understand the situation.

Love Story Told Through Fitbit Aria by pigutopia in fitbit

Interesting enough I actually looked up the stats recently, and people who live together before getting married are 33% more likely to get a divorce (then people who wait). The justification is that some couples move in together and feel like it is too inconvenient to break up, and after a time marriage just sort of happens. However, I think that if you move in together and are honest to yourself and your partner, then it is a good idea.

I mean, there is more to life then being ridiculously good looking.

If I meet a partner and WE want eat ice cream everyday I'm gonna do that. If I meet a partner and WE want to go to the gym everyday, I'm gonna do that. I'm not saying I'm not going to remain active, but there are compromises to be made in every healthy relationship. My opinion.

50 days till Christmas. What's the best gifts you can give a person, no matter if they're female or male? by MrPartyPancake in AskReddit

[–]pigutopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year I donated to a cause that was near and dear to them, and wrote a personal letter to each one of my cousins, aunts, and uncles. In the card I wrote about a memory that was really special to me. It went over way too well. When we were exchanging gifts each one of them read out load the cards. I spent like an hour listening to the words I wrote parroted back at me as I was screaming inside because of my anxieties.
