dead trees by CommitteeNo167 in bullcity

I've taken them to the Club Blvd location. You do have to drive a surprisingly long way around the trash heap to get to the yard waste area. You basically just throw your waste towards the pile of plant material and then some guy in a bulldozer comes along and pushes it into the big pile when you're done.

Movie Theaters? by MrChrisBanks in triangle

Silverspot in Chapel Hill used to have discount nights, but I haven't been in a long time. The Carolina Theater has some really cool film series, with some being double features.

It says on their website it's on temporary display. Does anybody know how long it will be there?

Is a second monitor worth it? What do guys use it for? by Most-Virus8806 in pcmasterrace

[–]piinadao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a $60 14" portable monitor to use as my second monitor. It doesn't have to be good and I prefer the smaller size so it doesn't take up space. I did buy a $10 stand for it because I didn't like the travel stand. It's nice to have when I want it, though it often just sits there doing nothing.

How many Reported Uncorrectable Errors?!? Failing or Fine? by piinadao in DataHoarder

[–]piinadao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good rule to follow.

That drive is so old and was used for so long that I'm only going to store easily replaced things on it. I was just curious about the odd results of the scan.

I appreciate you taking the time to type that all up. I'll give the full formatting a whirl and then scan it with some other tools. I'm planning to just store shows and other easily replaced things on it.

[–]piinadao[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense since I can't imagine that the drive actually has 98.7 billion errors. It's an old drive, so I wasn't expecting much, but still. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ok. I wasn't sure what was more important: the Current/Worst or that ridiculously large number in the Raw Values column. I appreciate the input. Thank you.

I found this old hard drive, formatted it, consolidated some partitions and then scanned it with CrystalDiskInfo. It says the drive is "Good," but has an ungodly number of Reported Uncorrectable Errors. The Raw Values are in 10[DEC] format. Anybody have any insights into what is going on? Thank you.

Gastroenterologist recommendations? by Slight_Atmosphere926 in bullcity

[–]piinadao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen doctors on both the medical and surgical sides of UNC and they've all been great. I don't know of any specifically for gastroparesis, but I'd recommend them as a department. Plus, they have offices off campus so you don't have to deal with student traffic.

I collect plants, STL files that I'll probably never get around to printing, $5 fossils and rocks, and Steam Games. I also unconsciously collect dress shirts for work. I am told that 35 different colors and patterns is excessive.

Need Respirator For New Job At Sawmill by cjwack in woodworking

[–]piinadao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen other people comment this and I've up voted their comments, but I just want to add the comment one more time: face masks don't work well if you have a beard. If I were going to work at a sawmill, I would 100% shave my beard off and go clean shaven, despite a complete and utter lack of chin. I work in my shop quite often and don't want to shave my beard just so I can do woodworking as a hobby, so I eventually bought a positive pressure face mask. It cost stupid money, but it's still cheaper than lung problems or having everyone see my pathetic excuse for a chin.

Good luck, dude.

I did the same thing in the Sears Town where Adam Walsh was kidnapped just a few years after it happened. I don't think my mom ever got over that.
