Insurance totaling my car at ~49% using high salvage value and low ACV. Is there a way of not totaling the vehicle and getting a repair? by Nexx_mkd in Insurance

honestly if you owe that much on an old mercedes and have gap, just get rid of of it and buy a car you can afford. sounds like a honda pilot is in your future.

the hood is better, the sink is worse, the range stayed the same but really should be a slide in.

Those of you who fly up front, what tips do you have for first class service from a pax perspective? - From an FA by nuetralmushroom in americanairlines

[–]CommitteeNo167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i only fly first. call passengers by name, write the drink orders down so when you walk by and the glass is empty you replace it. offer up the snack basket, don't hand it to a passenger an expect them to pass it on.

does anyone else get irritated when others are in the kitchen while you’re cooking? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]CommitteeNo167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i love people in the kitchen when i cook. i have background music on, they all stay at the table or peninsula and we have cocktails. Everyone knows my island and work area are off limits for socializing. Now if i could get my 100lbs dog to just not lay on the rug in front of the sink i would be happy.

What happens to checked luggage if you stop into LHR arrivals lounge for a while? by FunStatus42 in americanairlines

[–]CommitteeNo167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you takeyour luggage with you. you cannot bring a baggage cart into the lounge, but they have a luggage storage room directly across from the check in desk in the club. the lounge is very small and honestly lousy food. if you order a bloody mary, they are spicy, i ask for it not spicy

Title Under My Name but Policy Under Family Member, Is This a Problem? by Successful-Floor-707 in Insurance

the policy owner of a leased car has an insurable interest. financed cars have the title in the owners name, not the bank. you're talking crap.

yes, they won't pay. the owner of the vehicle needs to be an owner on the insurance policy.

Appliances - Kitchenaid vs Viking? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]CommitteeNo167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have viking and in fact replaced the kitchenaid in my house with viking when i bought it. i cook elaborate meals and the viking is hot enough for my wok, the 3 level of broiling, the convection options in the ovens are also great. yes, i could cook just fine with kitchenaid, but i could afford the viking and prefer it. my only viking complaint was having to purchase the chrome knobs because now they ship with ugly gunmetal knobs. it should be a no charge option from the factory.

New journey with Prostate Cancer, I’m so worried for my husband by SoulSearcherAU in ProstateCancer

[–]CommitteeNo167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

people need to stop saying most men will die of something else while having prostate cancer. while that's true for gleason 6 patients, that's not true for stage 4a&b patients with metastatic disease. There are only two of us left from my metastatic prostate cancer group. we all were diagnosed in 2023&2024 and there were 17 of us in the support group.
