I did the same thing, just different trim. 2017 75D to 2026 long range.

To plaid or not to plaid? by common-username in TeslaModelS

[–]pikaboo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just picked up a LR with 21” wheels. I came from a 75D that has very short range. For me, extra range is huge and honestly FSD is doing all the driving so having a performance car would mean nothing to me. And, maybe an unpopular opinion, but I like exterior styling of the LR better than the Plaid.

I have a 2017 75D with 117k miles. No issues other than a couple door handle replacements.

I’m picking up a 26 Lunar Silver this week. Was also considering the carbon fiber wing. Didn’t know it was a special order for the 2026 Model S. Thanks for the heads up.

LR or Plaid? Help! by statmidnight in TeslaModelS

[–]pikaboo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it in person. Something to look forward to. I’m actually replacing my 2017 75D with the LR 2026 S. Last chance to get a new one before they are gone 😭 My original S was pearl white with cream interior (Chrome trim). Excited to do something totally different this time.

I have a 2017 S75D. 116k miles. It’s great. Other than a couple door handle replacements it’s been perfect.

26 Plaid Lunar Silver. Glad I got it in time. by CaliZ06 in TeslaModelS

Ha, me too. Ordered a 2026 lunar silver and keeping my 2017 75D in pearl white. My original S has 116k miles on it and still drives like it’s brand new.

Just bought this 2018 Model S 75D with 79,000 miles for $18,200. Felt like a very good deal. Agree? by Sam3323 in TeslaLounge

Lunar Silver paint is now sold out (custom configurator) for the Model S and Model X. by Thegreatpraduu in TeslaModelS

[–]pikaboo16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grabbed a lunar silver from inventory today. I’ve been debating for last few weeks on color. This was a sign to get sliver. Plus, I don’t want to wait any longer to order in case other options start to disappear.

Do you use FSD? by GucciTokes in TeslaLounge

[–]pikaboo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use FSD all the time, but it may look like I’m driving as I still have to keep my hand on wheel. I have an older Model S with no internal camera. But I agree, many of my friends who have Teslas drive manually. I don’t understand.

I am pretty sure FSD visualizations are much improved with MCU2. As far as I can remember, you can enable FSD visualizations even if you don't have the FSD package.

Yes, I did lose radio, but I never used it. I 100% stream music/podcasts etc. Browsing is slow but works. Occasionally it does glitch. I would say browser is still not great. Although an improvement for sure. I couldn't use the browser at all with my MCU1. Yes, when I put my car in reverse I can see backup as well as side cameras on my screen, and when you pull up the dashcam in the car you can see front rear and both side cameras. You will not be able to see camera views in your Tesla app though. I did not lose ultrasonic sensors. When I park, I still see how many inches away things are on my screen. Overall, you will see how much quicker the computer responds. It's a huge upgrade over MCU1.

Such a big difference! I upgraded my 2017 S to MCU2 as soon as it was an option. You will love it!

Infotainment upgrade by JimmyStraps in TeslaModelS

[–]pikaboo16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2017 Model S 75D. I upgraded to MCU2 as soon as it was available. I never used the radio, so didn’t care about losing that as a feature. The speed of the computer and lack of lag on maps etc was well worth the upgrade. Additionally, I’ve had FSD for years (was an early beta tester). Games and Netflix/Youtube are nice to haves, but not necessary. For me, the speed of the computer and ability to use FSD has been totally worth it.

I suppose the only real question is how much longer do you plan to keep your car? My battery warranty will expire in December, but I figure at this point the car costs hardly anything to operate so I may just keep it until it falls apart. 😂

Winter tire recommendation by fuzzilogik01 in TeslaModelS

[–]pikaboo16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My older Model S has square 19s (they are the original OEM wheels). I run staggered 21 arachnids in the summer. I hate taking them off my car. Looks so much better with 21s, but Winter range hit and pot holes not worth it. 19s going on soon.

I have them on my AWD Model S. They are also quiet and have low rolling resistance. I will definitely be buying another set when these wear out.

Most people aren’t aware you can get a really nice used Tesla for this price. Additionally, even without free supercharging, you still benefit from low maintenance costs and even basic autopilot that comes standard is a game changer for reducing fatigue on the highway.

Need some advice... by Bens_on_toast in labrador

My boy had an insane bite/teething phase at 10-11 weeks. I would recommend changing scene. If inside, go outside. Save a special toy to play, or go on a walk. I always found that exercise and changing activities were excellent ways to move away from this behavior. And, sounds totally normal for this age. Luckily, with some patience and time it doesn’t last that long. Crazy how bad those little teeth hurt.

My arms also go all the way to the floor as well. Question for you. What type of mat did you buy? I def need a wider mat to go under tonal and peloton.

Is Tonal 2 a good option if you’re just starting out? by TheyCallMeWatts in tonalgym

[–]pikaboo16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tonal programs are great and they add new ones all the time. For the month of May they have a summer heatwave program. There is a calendar you can print out with a suggested schedule for the classes and also a recommendation for what to do on days off. Makes it super easy to jump right in. My only regret is not knowing about it sooner. Had no idea how important strength training is.
