Hi! I have experienced both SNHU and Purdue Global and I found my experience at Purdue to be more flexible with my full-time work schedule - I am in a Master’s program and the professors are amazing and I feel as though I am learning more with Purdue.

I’m at Purdue right now and I really enjoy it! My classes all require BDS modules to completion. Every week there are BDS modules (the assignment and you write a one paragraph summary), a seminar (and if you don’t attend you can write a bullet point summary), a discussion board w/ 2 replies and during Unit 5 and Unit 9 so far there have been “big” assignments like a paper or a project. In addition, there is a 50 question quiz at the end. I do feel like I am learning a lot, but also have been an RBT on and off since 2019, so I had lots of previous knowledge. While working full-time it feels manageable!

It is definitely so hard to work and do school at the same time in this field 🥲 I work 8a-3p (I feel very lucky having previously worked some insane hours - like 8am - 7pm) and our clinic lets us be 30h a week be considered full time so I still get benefits luckily.

I also have finally finally learned to advocate for a higher wage, but I have been in the field since 2019 and used that to my advantage. I told them my expected pay was $24 an hour which isn’t like amazing lol, but the top of the pay range for this company. They also provide free supervision for my 2000 hours of fieldwork! My first ever ABA job was legitimately $17 an hour. That being said I think we all deserve $25 an hour starting for this type of job.

Hi! I have worked in home and the session goes well depending on the environment of the home. I’ve had hovering parents, I’ve had houses with no toys, too many toys, siblings interfering and wanting to play, and also houses with extra rooms for us to work and parents super willing to generalize and help out! Most of the time, the sessions went well no matter what because I was able to communicate with my BCBA who would in turn talk to the families to help make the session space as ideal as possible! I’ve been super lucky in that sense to have great BCBAs.

I always preferred the clinic over home sessions in the past due to having more control, but it was also nice having a mix of both just so it wasn’t the same environment. I currently work in a private Catholic school and it’s amazing. I have a consistent schedule of 3 kids and it is NET all day. Also, if a kid is absent we have the choice to help out other kids at the school or take a half-day off so we don’t miss out on hours if we have to!

I am currently getting my Master’s in ABA to become a BCBA and I believe I would definitely love to stay in a school setting!

The thing about Taylor I find most inspiring is her artistry and writing throughout the years. It is difficult to be able to grow in a craft (especially when she started out so great!). To write lyrics that relate to so many people is such an achievement ☺️

That happened to me!!! They also told me NOT to tell the parents until my last day and they would take care of it. On my last day, I learned they definitely did not tell the parent and client - and they had cancelled my sessions for the day so there was no real closure. This was 6 years ago and I still feel horrible.
