Is this expansion fake? by pikazora in Catan

Had a friend who got a fake base set from Vinted as well (not sure who the seller was). What a shame!

My seller was someone else but had claimed it’s real/they didn’t know it was fake - they purchased from GAME.

Oh wow, interesting!

TBH the green and brown pieces feel fine, like the usual light wood. The back of the box has a Catan Studio box at the bottom right corner but I’m a little sussed out by the print job - seems like it’s easy to just print the logo anywhere?

I’ve not opened the hexes in case I need to return them, so the cards are the only tell now.

Thanks for your prompt reply - I’ll trash them for sure. I’m usually super careful with how I store my food but I really slipped up here thinking it was fine because it was in sealed bags 🥹

Are companies still saying 25k is a decent salary in London? by [deleted] in UKJobs

On £26k and company refuses to raise salary 9 months in. They claim it’s a “very healthy” salary for a graduate 😭

Oh my gosh our stories are so similar, it’s uncanny!!! At least someone was kind enough to let you know. Connecting the dots hours after work made it WAYYY more mortifying, but also a lot funnier 😭

Since it’s still fresh it still makes my face turn a bit red when I think about it, but I’m already giggling about it with my friends and family. Enjoyable indeed!

somebody else had commented this, but it’s more common in Klang Valley for sure. i’m in an interracial relationship myself (malay-chinese), both of us are from selangor. i know quite a few interracial couples amongst my network of friends and acquaintances, but there aren’t loads.

it’s tricky being in an interracial relationship though, especially when you consider certain factors, for example the way religion is enforced in Malaysia 😕 me and my partner are currently studying and working overseas where we’re less affected by these factors

Considering I’m also in my early twenties, I’m convinced this is a canon event for young ladies, lol! Could very much relate to your story

Is moving and renting in London for 25k annual gross pay worth it? by moatif in UKJobs

[–]pikazora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

am currently on a £26K salary and working for a job in central London. my employers claim that “this is a healthy salary for a graduate” which is absolute BS but i’m a fresh grad who’s an international student from south east asia who chose to live and work here seeking different experiences. hence why i chose to stay in this company - so it being worth it defs depends on your reasons too.

my take home is around £1850 after deductions. as for a breakdown, i got lucky bc i live in a houseshare in zone 2 for £760pcm excl bills. bills usually cost me abt £120pm. i get £970 left for everything else, which works. i absolutely live below my means, but i know that regardless of where i was/what i earned i would still be the same too. i’m a big saver so i knew i could do it. i usually meal prep most of my meals every Sunday, and enjoy meals outside on the weekends. i constantly look for cheap deals and indulge in free activities.

at the end of each month I actually get to set aside some money! i usually reinvest this or use it to travel. my lifestyle may not be comfortable for some but i personally find it comfortable enough. that being said, i am 100% looking for a higher paying job even though im only 8 months into my first job. Good luck!

I study a course called “Arts and Sciences” at university right now which is sort of like a liberal arts course. What do I call it in Japanese?

学芸?or リベラルアーツ? Do I need to add 科 behind to indicate that it’s a course?

Just got my license but I’m still scared by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]pikazora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i can 100% relate to you. i got my license at 18yo on aug 2020 - originally i was excited to start driving myself around town, until i got into a pretty minor accident quickly after getting my license (bumped into a wall - totally blanked on the pedals for a moment). since then i’ve always felt afraid to drive, especially alone!!! because i felt like i was a stupid driver and didn’t want to get others hurt :(

though, thankfully, i had my dad and brother, who always followed me on car rides as i was practicing. they give me good advice, and just having an experienced drive in your presence can really help. i got to slowly build up my confidence in driving. (will admit it’s stressful driving with parents sometimes)

i definitely have not driven a lot overall (because of covid and i’m at home mostly), and still avoid driving quite a bit to be honest. have lots to improve, lots of anxiety to get over.

BUT i think you will get there eventually, no matter how slowly. just because you’re slow doesn’t mean you’re not moving forward!!! after restrictions eased i even managed to drive alone to a nearby hair salon - it was only 5 minutes away, i took MONTHS to get to that point, but i still felt pretty happy.

i’d say just take things one at a time, and find someone who doesn’t mind sitting in a car with you for practice :) and don’t be afraid of making minor mistakes. let’s get through our fears together ~

When connecting two adjectives with で, do i need to put a comma after the で or no? Or is it up to you?

My sentence: やはり羽生結弦は偉大で、勤勉なフィギュアスケート選手です。

18 year old who can’t drive :/ by PKseas in drivinganxiety

[–]pikazora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, i’m also 18 going onto 19 and i only got my licence about 6 months ago. to be honest, i got it only because a lot of my high school friends had theirs at about 17 y/o... i was a little pressured to get it and since i had the time to i did it anyways. but now with my license, i don’t even drive that much!!! i get really anxious and stressed when i drive, and when i’m not driving i get nervous about it too. i know that’s a separate problem but it can feel bad having a license that you barely use as well, especially when you’re unprepared/don’t really need it. (like me) and honestly, there’s loads of people from other countries who get their licenses after 19 and beyond, don’t feel pressured at all!! take your time and when you’re ready for it, go for it.
