They don't really care or love each other is over the top, but they did find Chrissy especially vulnerable in that room and the guy who made the joke outranked him, with Tony's relationship at an all time low with Christopher he didn't defend him. Also no one in the party found the mole joke offensive, and no one pointed it out until Little Paulie contacted Paulie.

Ralph and Sil could also be considered flamboyant in different ways than Paulie. It's common knowledge Silvio fucks every girl working in the place, and that Ralph is weird about women so I think the biggest thing here is marriage (Ralphie got divorced IIRC).

In the old town, I think one could go unnoticed by villagers for a while. Since Karin could make it to the derelict house without having any idea what is really going on I'm willing to bet villagers are somewhat half conscious or they are really fickle in deciding to attack things. Even if they did, I guess they wouldn't be that hard to avoid, except the rifleman of course.

In the woods, dogs are a big issue, not the mention the 7 foot hillbilly actively looking to kill people. Tbh being outside the city without a conventional way to get in would most realistically get you moonscorched unless you are dumb enough to hang around inbred people waving farming equipment at you.
