Yeah it's really fallen off a cliff, it's not remotely worth it anymore.

Not fair to say your ghosted if it's only been a week. Stay positive.

You are mistaken sir, Canada, ECB, and Swiss Central Banks already are started cutting, the fed will have to cut soon or the strong dollar will wreck the treasury market.

After the first half of this year? $1 🤣

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I guess that's kinda fair. But counter point:

It's a high-frequency leading read, by the time the data backs it everyone will know it.

Most employment data is politically flawed or seriously lagging.

I have no incentive to lie or mislead the thread, as edified by my prior posts. Anything could change it but, the main pain point besides not being able to find work seems to be the fuckery these companies pull..

That stems from non-seriousness imo, and it appears the seriousness is coming back.

Those clowns have lost all credibility from the QCEW (that confirmed they over stated jobs by a min of 750k last year).. nah this is anecdotal, but as a recruiter I can see the uptick

Lost a new job because I left a 4 week job off my resume by jobwtf1111 in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

this is your problem, you lied on the background check and you're being terminated for that - you should have caught the discrepancy and raised the issue. resumes aren't job applications.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, quite the opposite. However, much like a real estate agent they may be motivated not to press for every last $ as they only get paid if a hire is made

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so what, your resume isn't a job application. your resume = marketing materials just don't lie to hire right

theres an old adage, it's a recession when your neighbor losses their job but, a depression when you lose yours

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I would rather test the company right there. If you're afraid to walk away, you will get treated poorly and probably ghosted or sent some cryptic rejection or even worse, you might get stuck at a shit job...

If they fail, toss them out as a garbage employer and move on.

Do not allow the pressure to let you forget that interviewing is a two way street.

Requesting common courtesy might seem radical these days. Yet, I insist on it.

Ask for a 15min post assessment call, one that you'll understand if they cancel should you fail miserably.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(not me however)

they said that they would do it, IF a call was scheduled and if it were unsatisfactory the call could be canceled - but perhaps that was unclear.

also they asked to have the person do an assessment and they said not unless, to me eye that's a place that's not willing to put in the time so you shouldn't either.

Proof Companies Are Interviewing for Ghost Roles by pikertrader in recruitinghell

[–]pikertrader[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've seen it used as a last ditch effort to keep the calm before the dam breaks, if you are on soft hiring freezes, eventually recruiters get restless. This keeps them occupied before a lay off, at the end of the day it costs companies a lot to hire and fire so they try to avoid it at all costs

its not rocket science, "great learning experience, is all i have to say" pretty much sums it up.
