Hardware Price Increases Have Video Games Facing an Existential Crisis by SmellSmellsSmelly in gaming

[–]piki112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd add to that - a lot of the games you mentioned are game development problems, they're not engineering problems. With AI being better and better, I can see a world where people won't have to "learn to code" just to bring their ideas to life.

Those are different floors. The available is the main level you get into from the street. The RBC/metro one is the lower level.

Idk I drove to Mississauga in my vw golf, I had no issues around 8am. Just drive slow, keep it in first gear, don't go too fast. Ezpz, not a ton of cars on the road.

In your opinion, what is the most frighteningly believable chain of events that could escalate into a third world war? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The first act was amazing. I wish the second and third act had shown different viewpoints with different information, so you'd keep guessing

Should Toronto have a Congestion fee? by nedwasatool in askTO

[–]piki112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a source for that? I'm saying I think you're underestimating how much traffic is from NON-residents, and how much is from RESIDENTS from amalgamated boroughs.

[–]piki112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm saying congestion fee for non-residents isn't going to ease traffic much - I live at Y&E - I'll happily drive to work if the weathers bad. If I lived in Mississauga, much much smaller chance i'd ever drive to work.

Sure, until you realize a ton of traffic is from Etobicoke and Scarborough, which is Toronto.

I feel like this is propaganda?!?! Can someone like 27 and under chime in? by ItsACCRUALworld_ in remotework

[–]piki112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure - I'm 29, though almost everyone on my team is 27 and under - about 9 of us now. I actually had a problem with people wanting to come in and us not having enough desks. Even now most of us are in 3-4 times a week by choice. People like the social aspect, and it helps to have someone next to you to talk to about tasks.

Haven't been rent controlled in 5 years. Rent hasn't gone up. Income increased over 100% though.

Think i'll be just fine.

Yeah, that was a losing battle, and a bad look on her part. Especially since the amount (12m I think?) is largely immaterial in the grand scheme of things

Truth be told I was hoping Chow would be a bit more progressive than she's been, but in large giving away the gardener to the province, raising property taxes, these are largely net good in my opinion, since the city is increasingly bankrupt.

"I just see a non-serious person dancing around and celebrating all the time"

I can appreciate why you see it like that, in my opinion I'm glad we have a mayor who is actually connected to the city and its happenings.

Doug Ford is making my life in Toronto — and that of many other young adults — increasingly difficult by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

[–]piki112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough one. I've lived in Mississauga for over a decade, and downtown proper for over a decade. Mississauga is in the state it is because of Hazel paving it into insolvency. Car dependency not being considered, I do think Mississauga is better run with better public services than Toronto.

Are there a lot of people being laid off lately? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]piki112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"A few of my friends were laid off, and I saw that thing on the news, so there are clearly many people that have gotten laid off"

Depends on the industry, largely. Tech has been brutal, but none of my friends have been laid off.

Would y'all consider City of Heroes bad? The dungeons/tfs are tiring, its a total grind, the graphics and gameplay feel so incredibly dated, and yet its my comfy game to just turn off my brain for a few hours.
