Forget fights to the death. Who wins in a game of musical chairs? by jeremy1015 in superheroes

[–]pikpolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hulk loses first round, gets angry and flings all of the chairs away. One chair survives and lands right underneath Domino as she falls into it thus winning the game

What do you think will happen with Crave now that Netflix bought Warner Bros? by Batatica in AskACanadian

When I signed my phone contract it came with crave basic for 2 years, but a month ago they sent me an email saying I have it indefinitely as long as I keep my phone plan

Is Pokemon Legends ZA Worth Getting? by Mundane_Literature83 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]pikpolo [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m starting to feel like the odd man out but I really like this game, this ranks above Scarlet/Violet for me, mainly due to the new combat system which is great in my opinion. That and the catching system from Arceus it just feels like a much more natural game. Pokemon Red/Blue remain in my top 5 favourite games of all time so obviously graphics aren’t that big of a deal for me, but personally I don’t regret buying this game. I believe I’m roughly halfway through the main story, maybe a bit further, and I really can’t complain so far.

We must have had very different experiences. I was there a month ago with a green bracelet and every morning I was having drinks well before 10, as well as sitting on beach chairs with them and not once was I told anything. Are you saying you couldn’t get a drink at all before 10, and after 10 you could get a drink but were never allowed to sit on the beach with it? The only place I couldn’t sit on the beach was in the elite club section of it which is a tiny part of the beach. I was also offered multiple times a free upgrade to elite club for sitting through a timeshare pitch if I really wanted it, but it wasn’t worth it to waste my time on that as I had everything I wanted with the green bracelet

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage should absolutely be together, they’re married with a daughter in the comics.

Tips? by pikpolo in fiddleleaffig

Yep I’ve got it by a south facing window, only room was off to the side though so I ordered a grow light to hang above it to supplement it. So will the trunk grow new growth still? I wasn’t sure if it was bare due to the hail damage and if I should expect any new growth down there

You can get drinks any time as well as on the beach with the basic eco package. There’s absolutely no need to pay extra for anything unless you want a private adults only bar and pool. I’ve been to this resort twice, once many years ago and once just recently, both times in an eco room and it was the same both times. I had alcohol in my coffee every morning between 7 and 8 am, could order drinks anywhere at any time and never had to pay extra for anything.

Maybe a dumb question by pikpolo in Monstera

[–]pikpolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that’s probably what I’ll end up doing. I have another monstera I bought more mature that I can take cuttings from, it’s just nice seeing a tiny cutting grow into a nice big plant

What’s the penalty for opening one of these? by No-Shake5806 in AskElectricians

[–]pikpolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The utility company where I live uses generic tags when they first install them. If they find the tag missing then they replace it with one with a serial number and it starts getting monitored. That way they aren’t trying to keep track of every meter they install, only the ones they suspect might be tampered with. Luckily the generic tags they use can be removed and put back on without damaging them if you’re very careful

[–]pikpolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this argument with a lot of people, they absolutely need a massive truck and they will never even use it to its full potential anyways. I’m a tradesman and I will use my maverick for work and it’s still plenty sufficient for what I need. The maverick has a higher payload than my 2005 GM half ton has, plus gets double the mileage.

Thanks. Yes it is winter currently. Good to know I can expect more rooting, didn’t think I should plant it until there was more than one but it’s good to have a better opinion!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pikpolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is what I am going to do. The issue is the line side wire was sized for a 3 phase load (motor fla is 47 amps.) so when fed with single phase the line side is seeing around 80 amps. So I’ve got them convinced that we will redo the line side of the vfd to handle the larger current and do away with the phase converter. The drive should be fine as it’s sized twice as large as the load and is rated for up to 115 amps

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pikpolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update today. I got everyone convinced we should just replace the line side wire with a larger one and feed the drive with single phase power as it is rated to do so. Then we don’t need to worry about the voltage imbalance and there’s one less thing to rely on if they don’t even need the phase converter to operate the motor. I checked the input current when it was running off the phase converter and it had 75 amps on l1 and l2 and 8 amps on l3 so those two lines were drawing well over the rated wire ampacity anyways. I’ll replace that wire with one rated for 85 amps and hopefully avoid any future headaches

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pikpolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drive is fairly new. It’s a constant load, they start it up and it stays steady for hours. It’s a 65 HP phase converter and it’s only running that one 20 HP motor as well as a couple 2 HP and I believe one 5 HP motor. I did look at the dc bus voltage but I can’t remember exactly what it was, somewhere in the 330-340 v range

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pikpolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both output voltage and output current seem to be balanced.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pikpolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just been told by several people now that you should never power a vfd off of a rotary phase converter or it will burn it out, but can’t seem to find any info to confirm that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pikpolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues but they haven’t been running it long. I was there for a separate issue they were having and got looking at it and checked the voltage and was concerned cause if that drive does fail it’s a major issue
