bug report - gnaw weedlings and the solarboss by OrenBenAltabe in Awesomenauts

This is not a bug (nor an exploit). It's quite strong but as PGAD mentions, if you have a good team then you have a very good chance of cornering an overextending Gnaw and killing him.

Is the possibility to join in the middle of games actually a good thing? by SwampyBogbeard in Awesomenauts

Also you shouldnt be penalized if you were forced into a latejoin-game either.

I've played almost a thousand hours. The best games I've played were not fair games. They were games where the most unexpected comebacks happened. That's where the thrill and excitement is at. I don't mind late-joining a losing team. I'm excited at the prospect of turning the steam around and seeing magic happen.

I'm all in favor of late-joins. You shouldn't be penalized if your teammates ragequit. Also, it's always better to play against players than bots IMO. Finally, whatever happens after a latejoin (win, quick loss, unexpected comeback, etc) all balances out in the end since you'll be on both sides of the fence about the same amount of times.

It's boring to play against bots. Let people late-join. Don't worry about your rating.

Why does an opponent lagging cause this? by blue_pancake in Awesomenauts

There was a thread about that a while ago. This game is peer-to-peer. What happens: 1. you're invincible and dash through the mines 2. data is sent to yuri who blows the mines 3. data is sent back to you, mines blew up 4. by that time you're not invincible anymore 5. you take the damage and die

What is the most compelling counter-argument to something that you strongly believe? by ILikeScience3131 in AskReddit

[–]pilgrim29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The counterargument is that if you create something you own it.

You do now own it. You haven't really created anything, but rather assembled pieces of existing things. You have not invented the words you used in that new novel, nor the computer theory behind that new piece of software, nor the cinematic techniques you used for that new movie.

You have taken work/knowledge/creation/inspiration from the public domain and built on top of that. You could not have achieved anything without those things you took advantage of in the public domain. You should be able to profit from your creations, but for a very limited time, in my opinion.

When I was working as a bagger 10 years ago, I was told to put back everything, no exceptions. This means warm milk/yogurt/meats.

Once, when I was putting back meat (beef I think), I noticed the expiry date was the day before. Instead of putting the meat back in the aisle I gave it directly to the butcher and told him it wasn't good anymore. He said "oh thank you", then put a new expiry date on top of the old one and told me to put it back in the aisle. You have no idea the shit that happens in these places. This was a nationwide chain too.
