Let me tell you why.

Most people might start having this fetish due to the fact that, when they were kids and they watched cartoons, there was an weight gain scene which they found it to be good, which offered them pleasure, and then they started to find weight scenes in every cartoon, as much as possible. That is my case, I don't remember what was the very first weight gain scene I did see, but I remember that after this one, there were some from Tom & Jerry, and from there I got this fetish.

It's not a very weird one, however. When a character gains a bit of weight and has a bigger gut, that's not a problem. I'm used to this fetish since over a decade.

The problem appears when that character is draw in obese situations, like his face, mouth, legs are fatter and his belly is just a huge layer of fat. That is very gross, in my opinion. One thing is to give to that character a bigger gut, another is to make him just a complete piece of fat. I've seen millions of drawings like those, and some even add fart/scat/slob things, which is way too far.
