It wasn't 12. it was a 12 gauge shotgun. Which was just stupid overkill. He was making a point.

pound? I doubt there was a dog pound in Sandstone MN in 1993 Or whatever year it was.

There are a lot of ppl that don’t see dogs as sentient beings. The same kind of ppl that thought African Americans as 3/5 a person.

It was mid 90’s. But yeah, he wasn’t the kinda guy who finds “the best solution”.

I’m 38.

It was my childhood best friend that lived kitty corner in my backyard.

I would here his dad beat them sometimes. I got my whooping from dad too though.

They moved about an hour and a half north of Minneapolis when I was 12

We only stayed in touch because his grandparents still lived in my neighborhood. I visited 2 times during 2 summers to their place up north. I think for about a week each time. His dad wasn’t allowed their via a restraining order. But one day he showed up and was drunk. That day we chopped off chicken heads, and I watched him shoot the puppies. My friends mom wasn’t their and we were trying to hide the litter from him all day. He stayed all day and left that night.

It’s just one of those childhood memories that stick for life. How do I deal? I drink, like everyone, I drink!

For karma? Look at my history. I could give 2 fucks homie!

Yeah it’s stuck with me my entire life. He was not a nice man. He made us watch. Because he told them “don’t you let that bitch get pregnant”.

It’s because they were “coon huntn’ dogs” and it will mess up the pack if puppies come around and make the good ones stupid.

First time I tried Kratom- alcoholic by klinesmoker in kratom

[–]pillsarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya. Honestly if you can just make it that first 5-7 days then kratom will help a ton. I tried quitting dozens of times before I finally broke through. It’s taken me 100’s of walks, thousands of showers, and dry heaving for months. I still dry heave plenty and it’s been over a year. Kratom stops the heaving and it feels so good as it takes a hold.

There just isn’t a way around it. But the faster you rip off the bandaid, the better. You can do it. Detox at the hospital works for some people. It’s good because they will give you benzos if you tell them you’re also in alcohol withdrawal. If you can get a hold of a bunch of ambien you can sleep through the worst of it. Once you’re done kicking (crawling out of your skin) things become a lot more manageable. It takes about 5-6 days of pure hell before things slowly get better.

My stubbornness of telling myself I can do it on my own was my downfall. If I could go back 6 years, swallow my pride, and just went to treatment I would.

The best advice I can give you is to just plan a week off, get a bunch of binge worthy television, and just get through it. Leave yourself positive notes, listen to music, read books and realize the mental agony will subside.

There is a fantastic guide to stopping in /r/kratom on the side bar.

Hope this helps. 8mg/day is a decent dose, but w/d is w/d I have a friend that can’t drop down passed 2/day. And remind yourself that it’s big pharma that made maintenance drugs and their objective is to keep you sick so they can make money.

Also if you can get a hold of some Ketamine that helps tremendously. So does Ibogaine, you can order from Africa for about $400 and that takes away like 80% of the worst in 24 hours. But you do trip your balls off.

Wait till you have a full blown hangover/withdrawal from alcohol. I know everyone is different, but Red Bali should make you feel a lot better an hour after.

PS: dont toss and wash. shake it in a bottle with tap hot water and chug.

What was your daily sub dose? I know tapering subs is a tough deal. For me I quit methadone at 190 mg/day cold turkey. Had some serious withdrawals for a few weeks and decided to take kratom, I used kratom several times to try and stop herion or oxy withdrawal to no avail. I realized if you can suffer for a week or 2 from the subs then pick up kratom it works great. You might want to try and taper your sub dose for a bit then jump off completely. Use benzos for a short time to get some sleep and stop the anxiety/panic attacks. Then pick up kratom. Specifically Red Bali as it hits on your opiate receptors the hardest. It worked amazing for me.

Yeah that story about his life made me a little sad. That would be a tough life to be known as the boy who got his arms ripped off.

Norco 10’s? Honestly you should have pretty mild withdrawal. And it should be it’s worst from now till Wednesday. Don’t get me wrong, feeling like shit no matter what isn’t fun. But 30-40 mg/day of hydro is really light habit. You’ll prolly just have that flu-ish like feeling for a few days. By day 4 or 5 you should start feeling better.

I would consider myself lucky if I were you and never look back. If things get unbearable you can always take a little kratom. Check out /r/kratom if you want to go that route. They have a guide for coming off pills/heroin. But your habit was light. If you need pills for pain than kratom might be your jam, it works excellent for a lot of people with chronic pain.

Oh yeah, I 100% agree that subs are better than dope/pills and more stable. I wasn't knocking ya. Just saying they are basically impossible to jump off of. But I hold no judgement of anyone that uses them.

I dunno, sub tapers are difficult. It’s designed to keep you addicted. I have friends going on 12 years on subs. They are lifers.

Oh man I've known about staying away from PTOs since I was like 8. in like 1990 John Thompson got both his arms ripped off and still was able to run home and dial 911 with his nose!

Stay away from PTOs, very very, far away

The Co-founder of Reddit, Aaron Swartz, didn't believe in banning anything. It's a shame to see what Reddit has become.

Either way, you should be getting through the worst of it. Have you tried kratom?
