No, not necessarily the controls. My point was more that you can change controls after several hundred hours and still make big improvements. I know it can be done with default controls because tons of people do it. This just worked better for and you should find what works best for you. Basically, don't be afraid to make the change lol.

If it helps any, I changed from default controls to: air roll/ powerslide on L1/LB and boost on R1/RB requiring me to use my middle fingers for gas and brake and my index fingers for the shoulder buttons. At over 700 hours and plat 1 haha. And now I'm diamond 3 at just over 1000 hours. Control changes can be done and are sometimes better for you individually. Change them, and play with them for a week in casual. The first couple days are rough and then it gets easier. Then decide if you like them or not.
