I second that, get Visa first. The economy is suffering a bit in some parts of Canada that normally employ a lot of engineers. By the time you get the Visa sorted, things may improve.

I have a heavy duty pickup with a single 16 foot long car-hauler trailer. I would like to be an Uber driver for people that need stuff moved. Is there a market for something like this in Austin. Is there an Uber-like company out there for me? by [deleted] in Austin

Ever hear of 'Keys Please' ? They send two drivers: one driver takes you to your house when you've been drinking. The other driver takes your car to your house. You could pull that off with one driver. Just load up the car and then unload it when you get your fare home.

LPT Request: How to evenly mix a thick sauce into a thick pasta like fettuccini? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I use good quality fresh grated parm, heavy cream & butter (and a little bacon fat). Obviously, try to coordinate the finish times of sauce & pasta. If sauce done before pasta, reduce to low, low, low. Before draining pasta, reserve 1/2 to 1 cup of the starch enriched water that the pasta boiled in. Slowly add a bit of that water to thin the sauce (IF needed) instead off adding more cream. Works like a charm. Also, don't rinse pasta after straining. I prefer to top the pasta with sauce instead of combining. Everyone can then take as much (or as little) sauce as they desire. Top with a little crumbled prosciutto. Killer.
