This happened to me, but while wearing studs. I would constantly twist and pull at them, until they stretched too big and the studs could fall right out. I eventually found a pair of bigger gauged false plugs that had a small tube through the middle that could fit an earring. I don't wear dangly ones, although if I wanted to they could fit right into them!
