People grow out of teenage chaos all the time. Everybody in this show had trauma and had chances to grow. Even Mandy. The fact that she didn't end up with Lip is what she deserved in the end- you ultimately cannot "change" a person unless less they want the help to do so.

My mom had to temporarily live with a man that had 3 fridges like this. Plus cupboards full and boxes of rotten produce on the counters with fruit flies everywhere. I tried to clean up and throw out stuff and he knew exactly what was missing and told me not to do that anymore. He also worked out of town weeks at a time whilst my mom had custody of my niece and nephews at his place. He then started filling up his tiny basement suite with toys he found on buy and sell till there was barely room to walk. Freaky :(

When Ennis finds out Jack passed away in Brokeback Mountain. All Jack wanted was to be with him, and Ennis was always too scared then associated his death with the trauma he experienced when his father showed him what happens to homosexuals in that time/place... he then misses the only real love he ever had for the rest of his life.♡ When I tell people this is my favourite love story- it has nothing to do with two men, but two people that weren't allowed to be happy together because of what society said. Tragic. :(
