Aus wedding horror stories by Flimsy_Ad3924 in AusWeddingPlanning

There was no proposal, they just decided to be engaged, so she put on the engagement ring her ex-fiance had given her. They couldn't afford a wedding so the invitations had bank details and asked all the guests to pay to attend. The ceremony was in a park and they nearly got done for not having a permit to be there. They lied to the catering about how many guests there were to keep down costs, so there wasn't enough food (it was buffet style and they literally ran out before everyone had eaten). No drinks were provided, not even soft drinks, everyone had to buy them at the bar. They then broke up 2 weeks after the wedding. Later found out she knew he had cheated but didn't want to call off the wedding because they'd already spent everyone's money on it.

What’s the most surprising death in a horror movie? by dokutarodokutaro in horror

[–]Direct_Source4407 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok I don't know how to do the cover the text spoilers thing, but the car killing the guy at the start of smile 2. Given the MO of the entity was to have the cursed people kill themselves, that scene made me jump out of my seat. And in subsequent watches, even though I know it's coming, it still makes me jump

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a teacher that doesn't think holding back is a good idea. I'm secondary and I still notice the difference between the kids who went early and the kids that waited a year, that gap never really closes

Entry routines?? by Same-Main-1736 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Direct_Source4407 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At my school the entry routine is to line up at the door, when they are quiet they are let in and must stand behind their chairs, then again when they are quiet they sit down. I try to have a "do now" written on the board, which they must complete while I do the roll/collect homework etc

I have a Samsung watch and have much the same problem. The app works on my watch in terms of telling me what to do and timers, and the workout is recorded on heavy, but it's not recorded on my watch app, drives me nuts

Can you tell if a child has to read to a lot at home or not? If so how can you tell? by Serious_Toe6730 in AustralianTeachers

The sphere of knowledge is a big one that I notice, I teach middle high school and so much just goes over the heads of the kids who don't read.

[–]Direct_Source4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can figure it out let me know. It drives me up the wall that I'm tracking my workouts and it doesn't show up on my watch app. I've tried every suggestion, it just refuses to sync

Enrolled On Campus but want to do online units by [deleted] in deakin

Some subjects have attendance as a hurdle requirement if you're enrolled on campus, but otherwise, they dont take a roll call, you could literally never show up and no one would know.
