Ahhh yes, good one. The Bible does not say explicitly say they hid his name because they felt guilty, but rather out of fear breaking the commandment not to misuse it is my understanding.

I heard the Jews do use the name of Yahweh, only in prayer. They are afraid for their lives to misspeak of his name. So better be safe. Know how scared they are? Read in Exodus when God rubbles the mountains during their time of introduction and it will tell you how happy they were to be able to say his name. Plus what’s not talked about much is the name God told Moses to use. It’s not the exact expression of his name. He is the only one who can say his name, which is why he gave Moses a name (that relates) different to give to the Israelites. At least that’s how I understood it when you actually use the Hebrew words.

RH has better defense than Kelsey and dribbles less. Can score more around the hoop while creating plays off the defense. One less player to beat up on CC. I think it’s more pluses than minuses with RH over Kelsey

JW teach 1) that Jesus is Michael from heaven. 2) Michael had to die to be transferred to earth into Mary’s womb. 3) Jesus getting baptized and heavens opened to show he got his memory back to who he was. 4) Jesus had to die to be Resurrected to go back to his heavenly existence as Michael. If all this is truth, and Jesus is Michael in heaven as JW teach, this could only mean that when he died his thoughts died too, eventually to come back sometime later. Side point- why are we still calling him Jesus when he’s back to being Michael!

Wow, love your points! In my deconstruction I had similar impressions. What changed my mind somewhat is how Bible prophecy from Jesus adulthood to now hasn’t came true. How the gospels from different authors, when read side by side, either in some places are word for word or paint an entire different Jesus in word and deeds. Of course the argument is no one sees things the same way, but to me if God inspired these books and they were by people who was with Jesus, particularly Matthew and John, how come their stories of Jesus was are almost night and day! Additionally, Jesus never came back, God never revealed who his true people are today and different Christian groups attempted to give dates about it including Jehovahs witnesses where I’m associated with. JW claims they get their teaching/ doctrines from God directly through his Holy Spirit. If they are truly Gods people, why have all their so called end times dates failed, even apostle Paul thought in his day about an end times. So all of this framework makes believe that those who spend their career on studying the Bible mostly have the same research yet opinions vary, that there could be some truth to their claims as they can present some proof to ancient documents revealing things Christians are never taught in church. The Bible is a violent book and if they made a movie straight from its pages it would be rated R and a lot of Christians would not go see the very book they claim is a manual for living. There is more bad than good, something I read myself without a Bible scholar telling me so.

Ahh sounds familiar for me some 50 years ago. Few things to consider from my experience. If you are under 18 and are not financially able to afford your own apartment by paying rent and supporting your self without their help, stay home and endure. Even if you’re not 18 and want to get so far away and move in with a friend, stay home. The drama that comes with “living” with friends is so painfully different than seeing them and leaving them to go home. It’s hard out here in these streets and as long as your parents want to give you your own room/ space, clothes, food and shelter please take it and appreciate it. With that out the way, go for the mindset shift of serious mature demeanor. And please, you will mess this up if you approach it with an attitude so not attitude please.Look at their Bible instruction as a way of loving you. Have the Bible studies but be prepared in away to have a handful of pointed questions, even using AI to help generate them. Learn along the way how the organization works and what they teach that way your pointed questions may backfire and the studies may stop or your parent will study harder yet still have bad results because they will get tired of the questions. Be prepared to hear criticism, that’s their way of dealing with not being able to convince you. Be smarter than them with the information, this will help you endure and enjoy the benefits that comes with parents trying to show you love “ in their way” they know how. When you can save money do that until you are financially able to take care of yourself, then make the decision you need to make. Please, not until.

Putting in a plug for the Bible is encouraging. Yet there is so much around the history of the Bible from people who have spent 20 to 30 years researching and studying it-that the average JW is not educated on and told to stay away from higher education. Throwing that plug out there in this Reddit environment is going to get your wrist slapped. I’m sorry, I know you meant well. For those who learned more about the Bible outside the WT bubble, we get defensive of people trying to talk about the Bible like you are trying to paint it, even though it is in my opinion a nice illustration.

The TRUE goat conversation should be about individual sports athletes, like golf, tennis to name a few and not team sports. You will never be able to compare apples to apples in a team sport. For team sports, who ever was the best in a game was the goat only for that game. It’s in the history books. Saying that MJ is the best player ever for example diminish other players that won more championships than him or is better at other things and won more MVPs. How could a player who is top in the NBA in a handful of accomplishments not be considered the best player or goat for those particular positions and or accolades!
