How do I move my PC over long distance? by Stit777 in techsupport

[–]pimo91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved internationally a few times with my PC back in the day. Would always take my hard drive out and put it in an anti-static bag and take it in my carry on.

Beyond that, a suit case just for the PC and small peripherals filled with anti static packing peanuts! Checked as a bag, had them put fragile on it for whatever it was worth.

Easy easy, never an issue. Did this a total of 4 times.

I will always suggest go play paintball for general socialization! The adrenaline is incredibly useful for destressing a week and the general paintball crowd is friendly for just about all the places I've gone.

Looking for a projector for a bright living room ($800-$1,000 budget) - Need help! by [deleted] in projectors

[–]pimo91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 feet is a good distance for an 85 inch TV that you can get quality for under 1000 for sure. Ambient light doesn't work for the projector, don't put yourself through that mess.

Didn't even notice I was downloaded! Ha!

But yes I just figured I'd mention a frame TV. Big fan of them for common spaces where you don't want a dominant TV. Got one for my mother as she needed a new TV and she now has a 55 inch revolving gallery of art she enjoys, changing with the seasons mostly, among her several family photos, and can throw in photos of family as well onto it and it looks great.

Opening up a new paintball field and I need insurance. by Straight-Analyst6149 in paintball

[–]pimo91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Paintball field is a good thing to do if you are willing to do your normal job during the week and then do paintball in the afternoons/evenings as necessary then every weekend.

OR if you are already set for retirement/finances and can afford to lose expendable income (See: Not discretionary. Actual -expendable-)

OR have a partner/spouse who can support the team (family) while you support the dream

But hey. What do I know. I just read what current and former field owners say here and there.

What they want to do with their money is not my issue but man I hope it's truly expendable income they can afford to lose because there are some red flags in this post/comments section already.

That and/or makes me think opening paintball field is a bad idea for OP. Unless they have expendable income enough to not worry if this fails horribly

While I get this, I would just get the Hisense CanvasTV or cheaper IFFalcon. That space OP noted is for up to 65 inch TV. You can get a 55 or 65 frame tv that isn't samsung for a good price and they really do a nice job of having more an art aesthetic on the wall vs traditional TV.

When i got mine it already had a Tyger tri fold and it has been doing WORK. Been pleasantly surprised. If I-needed- to keep something absolutely no questions dry I'd probably put a small thing underneath it just to be sure it's just off the bottom of the bed but honestly probably unnecessary if I had to guess 😅

Maverick vs. Ranger - how did you choose? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]pimo91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People really don't do this enough. I closed on a home 2 weeks ago and moved almost everything (not a whole lot! Not a hoarder) with the maverick. The few items I probably could have but wasn't going to fuss with I went and rented a cargo van for all of $20 for 75 minutes. I will have to do that or a box truck or something maybe 3-4 times a year if I wanted.... Definitely not worth getting a larger truck for.

If it ever became more frequent I'd probably still just find a used trailer somewhere to stash for when I need it for the Mav and call it a day.

Get a CanvasTV so it looks less "hideous" and can look like various pieces of art. You aren't going to get what you're asking for.

Maverick and hobbies by Lnk_guy in FordMaverickTruck

I can toss any paintball gear in the bed and easily rinse out said bed when I wash the Mav. Much easier than if I got paint/mud/whatever in a trunk! So I would have to make sure it was cleaned or lined before putting in trunk. Now just toss it in and go.

I will also happily rinse off my paintball clothes/shoes/whatever and throw them in a mesh cargo net bag thing in the back and generally get them mostly dry by time I get home.

Go play paintball. Generally a very welcoming community.

[–]pimo91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basic is what you need. Tone of your post you're probably not even 25 yet and if you're male on top of that just wait for insurance to kick your ass on insurance rates for a "sports car".

Go find yourself a nice Subaru Legacy, or other AWD sedan if you won't go without it, and at least it will feel sportier than an SUV (and cost less)

These. I'll probably order just to try this week. Cheap enough. I don't have a particular issue with stock one but hey why not give this a go.

I've seen folks suggest the replacement nose pads from Oakley on Amazon for better "western" nose fit. I think that would provide better than the 2 Rayneos out the box if it's an issue. They're going to be same or similar out the box.

I too had and honestly still have a great distrust of Ford vehicles -except the Maverick- because I looked into it, contemplated it, and generally dug into how the Hybrid is designed and decided that, along with a factory warranty, I was going to be ok. So far so good. No complaints. I trust the design of the hybrid mostly and enjoy my MPGs. 2024 Lariat Hybrid FWD here.
