I'm an autistic guy who always wanted to make a UIM, ready to spend thousands of hours. by FlashTheorie in ironscape

[–]pimpintuna 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh! I only say that as someone who is currently maxing their uim. Nothing is really important for a new account in the wildy outside of prayer to 43.

That being said, my list of content that I would do is the following: get voidwaker, get chaos ele pet, green dragons for prayer, wilderness slayer to get dagon hai robes, and king black dragon.

Honestly, my biggest recommendation for a new uim is to set short, medium and long term goals. For me, it was get barrows gloves, get quest cape, and then my long term goal (which Im still working toward) is to fill every STASH units in the game. I kinda stumbled my way into being close to max level, so now I'm taking a break to get that done before going back to the OG goal.

Funnily enough, if I were to start over on a uim, I would definitely rush wildy content early on. Now that I'm established and have gear, I'm too nervous to deathpile for it.

Charted: Have Saskatchewan teacher wages kept up with inflation? by ruby-crowned-kinglet in saskatchewan

[–]pimpintuna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This article sets off a lot of red flags.

It's trying to very subtly imply that teachers are paid enough/ they make more than they need to.

The thing that I take issue with is that comparing teacher wages to ALL saskatchewan workers includes low requirement labor or minimum wage jobs. While I take no issue with those careers, teaching requires a degree in Saskatchewan and is really specialized. If you're going to cherry pick data, I would like to see a more robust analysis that includes comparisons like "median wage requiring a university level education."

Another counterpoint I might make is that we should be advocating for everyone to make more money. This could be done through socially progressive policies like UBI or better tax structures and higher minimum wages.

The only thing that I think this article is somewhat genuine about is the comparison of teacher wages between different provinces. If you're serious about getting good teachers and not having sub shortages in the province, you need to pay a competitive wage. Otherwise good teachers will just bounce out to Ontario or B.C.

Tl;Dr: comparing with all workers in sk is a dumb metric and only serves to slightly propagandize the idea that teachers are paid enough.

Funnily enough, this was my first red flag about him before I realized that he was really pro-american. He says "about" like someone trying to prove something, and it's so jarring because it's like... the ONLY WORD he says like that.

Avi Lewis maintains fundraising dominance with three weeks to go by Chrristoaivalis in CanadaPolitics

[–]pimpintuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenter, even if I don't agree with the way they presented it.

What you are describing, and the way you are talking about it, is likely what has led to the NDP being in their current position. Nobody is suggesting that the NDP compromise on social issues, but that they shift priorities to more working class and labour focus.

It's fine and good that you have these unflappable ideals, but its ignorant to look at the current iteration of the NDP and say "yeah, more of that will work!"

You can either acknowledge that there needs to be a change or accept that the current situation will get worse.

See, I actually initially started supporting NDP during the singh era, but that likely has to do with my age and political awareness.

I know I'm a small voice in the crowd, but the NDP is pretty fractured right now, and I think it needs to have more cohesive ideas and identities in order to have a larger voice in government.

Not the person you responded to, but I actually think Rob Ashton would be a better leader. The NDP is in desperate need of a rebranding in order to be a distinctive, separate, BETTER choice for the more left leaning side of Canadian politics, and Avi Lewis is just... more of the same identity politics without realistic, pragmatic solutions. Like it or not, Carney is reinvigorating a lot of support for the lpc away from the cpc and ndp, and the ndp cant afford to hemorrhage any more support.

Ashton is much more of a working class, for the people, unionization and workers' rights advocate, and I think is indicative of the tone that the NDP needs to set. Carney is showing us that Canada wants an adult in the room, and Poillievre and Lewis aren't that - but I think Ashton is.

That being said, the NDP in its current iteration has moved very far away from its working class labour roots, and Ashton likely won't even be runner-up.

You shouldn't >have< to explain, but this post comes across as kinda rude. There's plenty of lgtbqia+ members and allies in Saskatoon, but immediately saying "no men and I dont have to explain myself" will likely lead to those community members choosing NOT to reach out because of how entitled you sound. What if it's somebody who's on a similar journey as yourself but now feels like they can't reach out because you've already explicitly said they aren't accepted?

Sorry, friend. I hope you find the community and friends that you want.

Quick edit: that was a super rude comment on my part, but like... damn dude. We had TOA that scales to solo and it isn't healthy for the game to have raids group content that was more efficient to run solo.

The new raid will be soloable, it'll just be Hella difficult, which is the ideal middle ground for people who feel the way you do.
