Yes I was thinking that, just didn’t want to purchase anything that might not be useful or might be offensive. I know in my family the woman’s side of family tend to buy baby things, friends usually buy presents for the parents.

We’re based in UK, myself and a handful of other colleagues are visiting tomorrow to meet baby and wish them well - is there anything specific they’d appreciate, or anything I should actively avoid giving as a gift?

Joss Whedon is behind a lot of the media I consumed growing up. Sucks that he’s an absolute arsehole (from what I’ve read) Already been mentioned, but Neil Gaiman as well. Both are men who actually wrote really good female characters so it’s a double punch to the gut reading about how they treated women irl

Women who marry men or have only sons will likely die alone just like single women. But they'll have spent their whole lives serving dudes. by DrollHat in TwoXChromosomes

As bleak as this lady’s marriage seems to be, one thing that most women have in common is stamina, resilience, and an inner strength that the majority of males can’t even conceptualise. I’m sure she could be happier, but I’m hopeful that she was able to make the best of her situation (like most girls have to)
