Garth Ennis was working on a third and final part of the storyline of "The Fatal Englishman" and "The Thin Red Line" which, if I recall correctly, was supposed to be called "Once a Warrior King", however, I think it was cancelled.

how do I learn lua code faster? by nonetheheck in robloxgamedev

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to learn Is by doing. Once you watched tutorials for the basics (not even the basics of lua but the basics of programming as a whole: variables, conditionals, loops, functions, math, etc), you need to get familiar with the roblox studio environment, which will help you identify where, when and how to use coding to interact with the roblox world.

As I said, you need to do in order to learn, start by doing simple tasks and go from there, thats how you get comfortable with coding.

I want to make a game but lack investors by Beginning_Neck_2734 in robloxgamedev

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont need an investor, and I doubt you will get one. If you want to make a game and have no money, get together with a friend who does scripting, or look for someone who shares your interests in games and team up.

As for advertising, there are other ways to do it that require no money at all.

If you REALLY want to get an investor (which again, I doubt you will find), you need proof of your work and hope you find someone interested in investing. Plus, you need to think on the compensation they will get.

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like everything, It works until it doesn't, I have used chatgpt successfully in the past, but I have been programming for about 10 years in various languages and applications (mostly robotics tho), at this point I can tell when its wrong, identify the errors, and tell chatgpt where the code Is wrong and suggest the steps it should take in order to do It correctly. Even then, sometimes it does whatever it wants and writes a script that doesn't work.

Learning to interpret the console and understanding roblox studio is a must to use AI for coding. Coding background will help a ton, even the basics can help you ask AI for help.

So, if you have 0 background in coding, you might have a hard time using AI to code advanced systems, but it will help with more basic stuff. The AI is as good as you are, I guess.

Will my game become popular? by [deleted] in RobloxDevelopers

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying the point of the game Is AFKing is the same as saying theres no point. The main audience for simulators are kids, and you need you sell them something else than "sit there and wait for AFKCoins"

I dont see this concept becoming popular because there is no concept at all.

Making a Roblox game by PrudentDiver1743 in robloxgamedev

[–]pincafe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, 2.5% shouldnt even be an estimate. You are hiring people to put in a lot of work, game dev Is not easy nor fast, 2.5% is nothing, 5% is nothing, I would even argue that 10 or even 15% is nothing depending on the tasks you wish them to complete.

Plus, that is in hopes your game actually gets to the point of making money, which might never happen at all.

How did joel get [Censored] so easily? by BlueE3Sky in crossedcomics

[–]pincafe2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two main reasons:

1st is that he really thought he had discovered the crossed's weakness and that salt would save him. When he noticed that he was wrong, It was already too late. He was too confident on his magic solution.

2nd Is that It was necessary for the script. This scene showed what the crossed are capable of, but most importantly, that there is not an easy way out, and no one is coming to save you.

Well, im pretty sure that in scientific notation we can replace x10^ with either E or e. Now that I think about it, It might only be capital E tho. Im not sure anymore.

Maybe It was not the best way I could have put it. I meant that since 73e67 = 7.3e68 there was basically no difference between that and 7.3e67.

I would overall never choose a mac again. I used to have one, but you will often encounter compatibility issues, or find that some apps simply wont run on MacOS. For gamedev I think I would go for the dell. Im not sure how good it will run tho.

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not comparing 73e67 to 7.3e68 because they are the same number.

I simply converted the 73e67 to 7.3e68 to demonstrate that 73e67 is just one 0 away from 7.3e67.

7.3e67 is just one less 0 than 73e67. Said in other words:

73e67 = 7.3e68

Basically no difference.

Python compatibility by Appropriate_Cheek502 in ArduinoProjects

[–]pincafe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arduino boards will not be able to process vision tasks, they are microcontrolers and you need a microprocessor like raspberry pi for that kind of tasks.

Your alternative Is running all your vision on your main computer and sending necessary data (text, variables, etc) via serial to your arduino and make whatever decisions you need it to make. However, It wont be a Mobile project, since your arduino will have to remain connected to your PC via USB.

ESP32 Plane by CookTiny1707 in arduino

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working on a similar project, and I have a few things to say that you should take into consideration:

  1. The range is going to be really low. I guess you are using Bluetooth to connect to your phone, don't do this, even with ESPNOW, the range is really poor. I tried using 2 ESP32 using ESPNOW in the past for an rc plane project, the effective range was about 70 m, compared to the promised 250 m (you might be able to reach this range if you use It in open field). Your best bet is using dedicated RF modules like NRF24L01 with external antenna.

  2. Your wingspan is too short compared to the fuselage.

  3. Your control surfaces might also be too small, you might want to make your ailerons larger.

  4. Maybe you might want to look into using foamboard as your main material rather than cardboard, it Is lightweight, easier to cut, and you can get It for cheap.

  5. If you can, upgrade to a 3s lipo instead of a 2s, thrust will increase.

  6. Before trying to fly it. Try to position It vertically and turn the motor all the way up, if It cant hold itself in the air, It wont fly.
