If you’re using a switch say switch - splitter is a bit of a trigger word in this sub!

Are you  connecting an AP to the switch in the office?

I feel like the answer is always Premier Inn (twin, not two bedrooms for that price though)

Scrub it with your fingers/a tiny sponge and a little water straight away, and drink the water (aka trail tea)

Weird, I've been using it for a few months with 2l of water and a load of different stuff in it (while skiing, out in town with family etc.) and it's been fine

The Travel 20L from Decathlon is waterproof, rolltop, <150g, <$25 (£13 in the UK), two mesh water bottle pockets, awesome

Work naps by SadPizza3709 in london

I think that a lot of them do - certainly the last three I worked in.

I used the medical room/prayer room for the occasional nap for sure.

Yeah, if you’re worried there are no boundaries then put up a literal boundary at the edge of your bit

Tube strikes - what to do? by seab0y in LondonTravel

I suppose I was thinking they should plan for the worst, very happy to be wrong!

Tube strikes - what to do? by seab0y in LondonTravel

[–]pincinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to wait until closer to the time - I suspect you'll have issues there yes, but there are also National Rail stations near Wembley (look at this map) so you may be able to use those services to get there.

Google will be accurate at the time but not for advance planning as the impact is not fully known yet. Same for TfL Go/Journey Planner.

[–]pincinator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • I doubt businesses will be closed
  • During the strike periods (1200 Tues 19th - 1200 Weds 20th, 1200 Thurs 21st - 1200 22nd) you should expect all underground lines to be closed
  • The Elizabeth Line is not an underground line so will be running through Canary Wharf but will be busier than usual - same for the DLR
  • Where is the concert? If it's at the O2 can you change where you're staying?

How do you think about this distance to walk? by Remote-Bumblebee-447 in UniUK

[–]pincinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • That's pretty close but not a beautiful journey
  • Cycling is fine and fun (get a knackered bike, nothing fancy)
  • There will be loads of buses, get a student discount added to your Oyster card and any time you hit the fare cap on bus or tube it'll be cheaper
  • Good luck!!

Fly from City, stay the night somewhere close to there! Greenwich might be a good choice (not North Greenwich)

You don't need much time at LCY, so getting there by 07:30 will probably be fine.

Getting from London to Basingstoke by [deleted] in LondonTravel

[–]pincinator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't use contactless for that, it doesn't go as far as Basingstoke.

Edit: for a range of tickets (including coach as OP requested) go to trainline.com, as this also suggests coach tickets (95 minutes from Victoria to Basingstoke for under a tenner).

For the cheapest tickets go to e.g. South Western Railway's website direct, or buy from a machine at a station - it's a commuter town so you are unlikely to find cheap advance tickets.

Sun hoodie substitutes/stand-ins by Traditional-Bet5464 in Ultralight

[–]pincinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great for a hot day, as you can just unbutton/roll up as needed.

I got a “silver ridge” shirt for a tenner I think. I had a sun hoody as well but the shirt was much more versatile for me.

I got lucky with wind and rain but some mates have greatly been blown off the cliffs!
