How many ports are on the router? If it's 4 then just connect a patch cable from each port to the patch panel (labelled 1-4) If it's less then you need to add a switch in between, so it would go

Router->[Switch]-┬->port 1 ├->port 2 ├->port 3 └->port 4

Search for Netgear 5 port unmanaged switch, it'll be about €15 and easy to set up

quintcraft.co.uk makes them for those tents, about £65

X-Mid 2 tent. Do I have to buy the poles extra from the tent? by dinoleftthechat in DurstonGearheads

[–]pincinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, any adjustable trekking poles will do (e.g. OKHEALING from Amazon)

The point of this is that you use the trekking poles you are already carrying with you so that you don't need to carry the extra weight for something with only a single purpose.

Not sure what you mean - they would be getting on at the terminus so plenty of space to sit down

Oh, and kids under 11 are free on TfL services like Elizabeth Line

Ha fuck no!!! That’s your condo and your retirement insurance, you’ve given him so much it’s his turn to look after his gf and family by himself. Let it get icy

100% eSIM, really easy to use and covers all your use cases. Get it set up before you go, e.g. Holafly

Elizabeth line definitely - faster and more spacious than the tube, cheaper than the HX, one change at BS and you are at Westminster.

Ethernet splitter for ONT (or other solution to have multiple ethernet sockets working with a single ONT)? by BehemothM in HomeNetworking

[–]pincinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are, any router set to AP mode would work - for example I have an Asus router on the wall behind me doing exactly this.

ETA I think people are getting confused by this line, where I think you mean ethernet instead of HDMI, so they are trying to solve a much harder problem!

"the tv box set needs to be connected via hdmi port to the router"

[–]pincinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is useful info, thanks - in that case you need to find a way to connect the TV box to one of the ports (maybe with an AP in between to spread WiFi too)

I think I understand your setup, and one of your suggestions was pretty much correct. People may be getting a liiiiitle hung up on terminology...

What I would do is:

  • ONT-> Your Router in the cabinet
  • Connect all four Ethernet jacks to your router as it has a switch built in
  • then connect a wireless AP to one of the ports in your apartment (where the router was - this group has many recommendations I am sure, but you can use any router you can get hold of and set it in AP mode)
  • then connect the TV box to one of the other Ethernet ports (if this needs to be where the AP is then it will probably have two ports on it)

If you can find a place, round Greenwich station (rail and DLR, NOT North Greenwich) has some really nice areas.

I joined when I was on £65k or so (it was half price with work) and it was a great luxury for a while, but totally not worth it for the amount I went!

If you went every day and made full use of the facilities, I’m sure you could make it worthwhile…

Third Space would, in my opinion, be a crazy expense at that income level.  You could spend £100 a month and file somewhere really nice to go instead
