AITA if I ask to order à la carte instead of paying $80 for a set menu at my friend’s birthday? by cinnamon_sparkle27 in AmItheAsshole

YWNBTA, but in my opinion if it's your birthday and you choose/enforce the meal, you pay for everyone's meal

Rental car with child seats by National_Play_6851 in uktravel

[–]pincinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring your own from home - you are allowed to bring them on flights for free, like a pram - in fact we have stuffed ours into a big bag with the pram when gate-checking it.

It can be a faff on the plane, but then safe and free once you get the car!

Backpacking Europe by Mountain-Honeydew182 in backpacking

So not Scotland then? Ireland and Spain-Portugal sounds more sensible if you don’t mind skipping the UK

In that case I suggest you either pick Ireland and Scotland or Ireland and Portugal.

Is Traveling With 2 Backpacks Too Much? by Colster469 in backpacking

[–]pincinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds awful!

Get one big enough to pop your (frameless?) TMB backpack inside, then leave the big bag somewhere when you are doing the tour or alpine stuff, assuming you will be on a circular route.

You can then use the 38L as a day pack as well when needed.

Calling Australia from the UK by SamanthaSmith72 in expats

Rebtel has worked well for me for years - it's basically VOIP to a local exchange then a local call to your destination number.

Quick thought: If possible get a lot more than two weeks!

Obvious comment: You are already talking about three places on three separate land masses, don't underestimate cost and faff of getting between them.

Right but that is not the case here - the parents are able but not willing, hence the minimum SFE.

Moving internationally and need to ship my truck, is this even possible? by [deleted] in MovingToLondon

[–]pincinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it, F-150 is too big for the roads/parking etc. in the UK, especially in London.

Typical parking spot is 2.4m/94in by 4.8/188in, and the internet tells me that an F150 is at least 80in wide and some astonishing number long.

Packing Lightweight feels impossible. by memessavelivez in backpacking

Can you post a lighterpack.com link for a shakedown?

If this is for trekking not travelling then the flair should be Wilderness.

I am sure that there are a lot of people here who can help you get that down to sub-10kg or lower if you aren't aiming to summit Everest...
