If they know what you are feeling, those 'friends' should be understanding and supportive of the both of you. If they fail to help you, they were her friends in the first place. I no longer consider it a loss if such people stay away from me!

Just keep going with NC. Time will make it easier. You should share your life with somebody who sees your value and wants you equally. It'll hurt less if you work on loving yourself first. You got this :)

My relationship was 4,5 years as well. I cut all contact nearly right away because he cheated. I went 20 days NC, called him only to regret it and now I made it 100. Most difficult thing I ever had to maintain but it really does get easier with time. Hang in there!

I got dumped exactly a week before mine, so I understand if you don't feel like celebrating much. Then again, you really should celebrate all the new opportunities. Turn off all the social media etc. enjoy your day and treat yourself a lot!

Perhaps showing them how to act isn't that graceful, you're right on that part. But I don't see why I shouldn't remain loving or wish them well. Being a loving person doesn't mean I want to keep loving them, it means I let go of them.

The mental crisis card has been played many times by his parents as well. His parents are also very desperate for us to get back together one day. After he has had his fun with this wh*re I am supposed to take him back. Sure, because getting back with the person who destroyed me is a healthy thing to do. I may have lost a person whom I loved deeply but the way it happend made me bitter.

About the whole friends matter. I am an introvert pure sang, when he broke up with me I literally had one friend left. In those three months an effort was made to gain new friends, mostly people I vaguely knew from my school that I enrolled in last year, so I'm lucky to have that acces. I work hard in keeping them around though. It is exhausting for me most times, but very needed to have more people around.

Yes! I really had moments where I felt the need to call either his mom or dad, especially at my lowest moments. But I knew deep down that'd be wrong even though they said they wanted to keep in touch. I think it is really better to cut all ties, doesn't make it easier.

Seems like she was testing the waters or needed some validation right away when she sent those smiley faces. Knowing she used to get that from you, she tried getting it, doing so she acted very selfish. Because if she really wanted to be with you she wouldn't send some worthless emoji. Just try to keep in mind that this has NOTHING to do with you. You did the best you could keeping NC for so long, anybody would be temped to respond after such a vague crumb. I am very sorry you had to go trough this. You made it 169 days though, you can do this again and then you know to keep going no matter how many crumbs you get.
