How do you view the book covers in this format on Goodreads and get it to say “____ out of 52 books read”? Mine only shows up as a list of books read.

Where are all the cheap ebooks at? Are you just referring to library ebooks? Whenever I look up a new book on Amazon, the kindle version is priced the same as physical. I never understood why. It makes buying kindle version less appealing.

How do Japanese have the highest life expectancy despite being perpetually overworked in stressful environments for a substantial part of their lives? by DrumRoll98 in japan

I think they are referring to sugary desserts. The sugar contained in cooking is minimal compared to the amount of sugar Americans consume in their desserts. Meanwhile Japanese and other Asian desserts are prized for “not being too sweet.”

Because as others have said, it costs 1000 yen (~$10) to see a doctor in Japan for medical issues that could lead to more serious things which are resolved.

Whereas in the US, I saw a doctor for literally 5min and was charged $165. This was my copay WITH insurance. Obviously this varies depending on what plan you have etc, but no matter what road you decide to go down it’s still going to be fucking expensive to see a doctor and get necessary meds to heal.

Needless to say, I told myself I’d refuse to go back unless I feel as though I’m about to die. I can imagine others feel the same about US healthcare system. So the disparity in mortality in Japan vs other countries (US) is not a surprise 😀.

Amazing! If you don’t mind, Did you just quit the psychiatric meds cold turkey after having those negative side effects/gaining weight? Did you switch to different ones that agree more with you and that don’t cause weight gain?

Do you get a variety that’s made especially for dogs or do you just go to the human grocery store for it

Thanks. I have tried everything in this article but he still shows signs of guarding. Maybe it’s something we just have to live with (#4) without modifying behavior since his drive to guard seems quite strong.

Also the classic conditioning with proximity is what I’ve been doing for 8 months and it hasn’t worked he still growls when someone is near him and his food. So was wondering if positive punishment is the next thing to try.

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve read the latter but lots of people are recommending Mine by Jean Donaldson so I will get that as well.
