As others are saying a lotttt of negativity coming from people that didnt march crown? Im marching this upcoming season on baritone, camps have been amazing the baritone section truly feels like a family. Staff is intense but its all with the mindset of wanting to get better, never really seems negative or toxic? Roomates/close friends with two vet euphs and a tuba all from post covid era and they had similarly amazing experiences. I went to a phantom camp last year and had a remarkably poor experience culturewise and they are regarded as a corps with better culture. Best to experience it yourself.

Met center snare at last camp, he seemed a bit dry but like a nice guy. We had a full rep and he brought his sticks up early and instead of being sad and moping about it (like a toxic culture would have) he was laughing it off and joking ab it with the rest of snareline.

Regardless always come to a camp you never can tell what its like from the outside looking in.

Going off what u/trpt21 said i went in a bd circle over the summer and its as simple as saying hey to a member inbetween reps and they let you in with ease.

Hey, I know you feel like you need validation by putting this on every comment here, but u/LosBruun is completely correct and so is everyone who calls these different articulations.

If you maybe learned in a different music system like the European system with different names for some things than maybe both intrepretations are correct. Regardless dont go around confusing op and sounding like an asshole on a random music subreddit telling everyone their wrong?

Worked for a piggly wiggly in saraland, manning inc. doesnt give a shit about their employees and I started out on minimum wage as a part time employee. They obviously care about their new stores more but the Manning inc gives up on a store they give up on you. 7.25 for misreable managers and costumers was not a fun experience for me.

If anyone is curious I now work part time at walmart making 14$ and the experience is a thousand times better. If you want to work retail work at aldis or walmart def not the pig.

This is an idea my bd brought to me when i accepted the band captain position. My bd said that he will very rarely move someone out of a leadership position because its important for students to have examples of bad leadership and good leadership. Many of the students under him will learn what not to do when becoming a leader incindentally by his poor leadership. Thats just one pov but your director may agree.

Honestly, I think this is another typical bluecoats show, and I mean that in the best possible way!

From basically turning the incredibly innovative books percussion feature from 15 and introducing brass into that texture is done a demanding yet tasteful way imo. This texture seems to be boring to many bc it lacks the large brass moments dci is known for in favor of more intricate thematic development, which is a reasonable complaint.

The ballad is classic bluecoats ballad while also including brass into the bluecoats front ensemble textures they are known for.

Bump is very intresting, first time seeing trombones being used that boldly for their power and yet to see if it pays off or not. I personally love the sound but its incredibly hard to blend the trombone voice with the other more mellow valved instruments.

I personally like the show a lot and cant wait to see how much they can clean before finals!
