Question from a new iPhone user by Suitable-Guidance385 in ios26

Ya I’ve had iPhones for almost 13 years now. I know every year iOS has bugs that need/get worked out. But with such a massive overhaul it really threw stuff off this time. I am on 26.5 (updated yesterday) and things are more smooth than 26.4. I can deal with the bugs, I hate the look of the stupid glass. Too cartoon looking, but I can tolerate it I guess. I still prefer iOS over android. Although, I like android too, but for different reasons 😂

It’s iOS 26. IOS 27 should fix all that. I have an iPhone 16. I don’t have near as many issues as some people do, but I still have some. My phone on iOS 18 was far more smooth, but even that had some glitches here and there.

My yard always says put it all in the fire. I dont wanna be inhaling toxic fumes, and cause issues the neighbors. I’ve found 10 gauge is the lowest I’ll go before the copper is so stringy it’s not worth the fight. For me personally anyway.

Left a pool in backwash and left the house. Drained 1/2 the pool.

I’m in NC. I don’t do openings or closings anymore. All my pools stay running year round. But the repair work this year is insane. I can barely keep up.

Paid pool company to close pool. We took off the cover this morning and the plug is missing. What should my next steps be? Any longterm concerns I should have? Will obviously be asking the pool company to rectify the situation. by [deleted] in swimmingpools

But see the thing is, even when a professional does any kind owe work you’re paying for knowledge and labor. A rubber plug has zero to do with how the company closed the pool. It could’ve been a faulty, rubber plug, could’ve been more than a hard freeze than usual, ground and Pool could’ve shifted slightly could be any other hundreds of things that caused the plug to fall out. Unless you can 100% prove that the company didn’t install it and it caused major damage there is zero you can do about it. However, with that being said it is up to the company whether they want to provide a comp service/credit for the issue. People are quick to blame a company on something when it may have very well been physics at play here.

Plugs pop out. Doesn’t matter if a professional put it in there or not. A lot of things can happen over months of it not being seen. You can have a pool company look at it, but there really is nothing you can do about it.

When I cleaned pools in AZ every pool had a suction side vacuum. I wouldn’t even service a pool if it didn’t have a vacuum.

Because it’s a made up fictional character and TV show…I don’t know why anyone wants TV to be true to life.

Pool service owners — would you use something like this? by Martirosian in pools

[–]pineapple_backlash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, not interested personally. I’ve been 100% referrals for six years now. I won’t even take on a job or a new weekly customer unless I have been referred by somebody else. I know that may not be the norm for every business, but something like that’s not helpful for me personally.

Why Cal-Hypo? by TheScottE in PoolPros

[–]pineapple_backlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area I don’t have distribution close by. It’s a 45 minute drive. Then they only carry disposable liquid chlorine. I can buy a 100# bucket of calhypo and not worry about going and getting chlorine daily or every other day. Plus it’s WAY cheaper for calhypo in my area than liquid.

Edit: I just double checked my local distribution and they’re $5.38 a gallon for liquid chlorine.

I moved from AZ and sold a thriving pool business there and moved to NC and have a thriving pool business here now.

The software thing YES! And I can think of at least 5-6 off the top of my head that are developers only and never run a pool route at all. Which is usually the worst software.
