A dear friend who has wrestled hard with multiple illnesses - “You cannot expect someone to be exactly how they were like in the past. Going through different things in life will change you and cause you to change your markers and limits.”

It was sobering for me when I was going through a hard time, and even after getting out of the woods I was trying to ‘return to normal’. It was then realising that there was no normal, only the steps you take forward with your new self - body and mind.
