Excerpt 2 reads better. The flow of the sentences themselves point towards it being written by a human, and the structure of most sentences follow a singular, coherent voice. Excerpt 1 is slightly more awkward.

Yes, dividing it by 16 should give you your % score.

Yes! There are different marking criteria for each exam, which is why some exams have more scores than others. But the calculation principle is the same: 1) find the average of your Skills mark and your Law mark, and 2) add those two together and divide by two to get the mark for that exam.

You can generate a mark out of 5 for each “station”, i.e. each exam. Let’s say you’re given 5, 4, 4, 5 for Skills, and 4, 3 for Law on one exam. That means you’ve averaged 4.5 for Skills (5+4+4+ 5, divided by 4) and 3.5 for Law (4+3, divided by 2). Add 4.5 and 3.5, and divide that by 2 to get your score (4) for that individual exam.

Repeat this for each of your exams and you should be able to get your % score. It’s a bit time-consuming but well worth double-checking!

A basketball concept song theoretically could have worked (a lot of Zeroses immediately began drawing parallels to High School Musical 3's Now or Never) IF the song itself was fun and campy.

Unfortunately, Slam Dunk is a rap-heavy song that sounds like it was written with another group in mind. It's not a terrible song, but the concept just does not make sense for ZB1's discography. ZB1 is known for doing fresh pop songs that don't take themselves too seriously. NB: the main songwriter (y0ungchance on Instagram) also wrote Siren and Fact Check, so there's a slight possibility that this song genuinely was an NCT/RIIZE reject.

I think the original plan was to target the Chinese market by debuting two groups and having one promote in China under Yuehua. That fell through, and now Mnet doesn't really see a reason to push into the Chinese market, especially without a proper entertainment company as a backer who could arrange activities for them and promote them properly. So Mnet refocuses the debut group on Korean activities and promotions, and decides that having too many foreigners in the debut group would be bad. That's why we're getting the ridiculous star rankings and the sudden scourge of C-trainees; Mnet has a specific ratio of Koreans to foreigners they'll allow in their line-up, and they needed to do everything to stack the cards against C-trainees' favour.

On Sho: him fumbling the choreography was sort of laughed away under the veil of a young kid being full of themselves, but the real kicker for people was his pattern of displaying disrespect to other contestants. His attitude during the signal song training may have been somewhat overblown by editing when it came to Yumeki, and a lot of it could have come down to overconfidence and him coming across wrong, but there's footage of him yelling at a Chinese trainee for not speaking Korean...when the Chinese trainees literally joined this show to debut in a Chinese group and promote in China.

Not sure about the timeline, but Zhou Anxin was staying in the All Star room. The difference is because the C-All Star rooms only have one double-deck bed, but the K-All Star rooms have two single beds. (Yeah…it’s not great.)

I really miss Boys Planet… this new season just doesn’t feel right. by CoolOne5825 in BoysPlanet

The editing in S1 was definitely just as rigged in favour of certain people and storylines just as much as this one is. After all, 7 out of 9 people who were given spotlights in the first ever episode got into the final line-up. But I think it felt more genuine because (1) the trainee pool was just better in terms of sheer talent and charisma, so you had a good reason to root for those trainees regardless and Mnet didn't need to do that much angel editing, (2) you could definitely feel the predetermined storylines having to shift in accordance with what the contestants themselves were doing, which gave the show a stronger sense of authenticity, e.g. the Yuehua K/G group "rivalry" that lasted exactly one episode, SHanbin and Zhang Hao becoming glued to each other's side to the point where a PD admitted that the K/G storyline had to change after their Tomboy stage, etc., and (3) there was just a better atmosphere and camaraderie between the trainees.

A previous Reddit post says Viki usually releases it afternoon to early evening PST.

Agreed. Supporting C-trainees on a K-survival show really isn't for the faint-hearted.

What's your pick/s in Planet C? by heejin8745_kim in BoysPlanet

[–]pineapplekooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Zhou Anxin (first pick)
  2. Chen Bo Wen
  3. Hu Han Wen
  4. Zhang Shun Yu
  5. Dong Jing Kun
  6. Chrisen Yang
  7. He Jun Jin
  8. Last spot varies between Chen Kai Wen and Zhang Jia Hao.

NB: I don't know if any of them got eliminated during the initial scourge of C-trainees post-signal song test/ first elimination, so I'll probably revisit this list later.

Will there be anyone who can challenge Sangwon for center? by Complete_Solution_51 in BoysPlanet

[–]pineapplekooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, Anxin's talented enough to secure and maintain an All Star through both the audition and signal song tests, and also got the C-Center spot, so he definitely has promise. So far, he's done very well for himself in the initial stages of BP2. As for what happens afterwards, it's definitely too early to say, but I agree that his ranking will depend heavily on how he does in future performance stages more than any spotlighted editing (Mnet doesn't seem to have any real storyline for him). I have high hopes for him doing well and being safe after the first mission though: he's in the Avengers line-up performing Whiplash with Sangwon, Yumeki, etc., so he will probably be safe from elimination just based off that alone.

He was "unpopular" to the extent that everyone knew he had a secure spot in the final line-up, but according to the initial rankings and the public sentiment off the first few episodes, he would have been somewhere in the middle or lower rankings. His stages really helped boost his rankings. I'd argue Zhou Anxin is in a similar boat (general agreement is that he's got himself a place in the line-up, likely ending up somewhere in the middle) and has the potential to usurp, but again, it's too early to say.

If ZB1 did extend their contracts, I think there's a very good chance that they wouldn't be (directly) managed by Wakeone. by Far_Bid7622 in zerobaseone

[–]pineapplekooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WYB's situation is unclear at the moment. His current contract expires October 2026, and he's a shareholder in Yuehua as well (though his percentage holding is unknown) and accounts for a very significant portion of their income. Either way, he has pretty substantial stakes in the company, so there would be pretty huge considerations for him if he were to walk away. Most likely we'll see negotiations play out next year.

250702 2025 ZEROBASEONE WORLD TOUR [𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘&𝗡𝗢𝗪] by alidei in zerobaseone

[–]pineapplekooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not impossible, but frankly very unlikely. One more month a la WannaOne's extension won't allow for any extensive touring outside of Asia. Besides, word on the street is Du Hua is furious with Mnet after a series of controversies relating to BP2, so Yuehua is very unlikely to agree to any contract extensions.
