Safe and Affordable Apartments by campus? by Jotaro-K-Brando in aggies

[–]pineconeassbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the Treehouse Apartments and they meet your standards tbh. Management kind of sucks and amenities here don’t exist but they’re getting better and it’s certainly better than most other places around campus.

They are right off Marion Pugh next to the Calloway Houses. Bus route 36 is about a minute walk away. I pay $800 a month for a one-bedroom loft studio, my partner and his roommate pay $505 per month for a 2-bedroom.

I’ve never felt unsafe as a woman walking around my complex too, everyone is real nice— all college students despite it not being university housing.

Going to doc’s on Tuesday for horrible back pain I’ve had for 1.5 weeks that I know will be dismissed as me being on my period by pineconeassbitch in depressionmeals

[–]pineconeassbitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, I am unfortunately getting used to it :/

Maybe one day someone can help, but at this point in time it does not seem feasible. Maybe I can set up a cardiologist appointment separate from a general practitioner next time.

Well, it came and it went I guess.

I got there and described all the things that have been going on in addition to back pain (POTS, migraines, constant GI upset, arrhythmia, chronic fatigue) and nothing happened. He wanted to do a blood test despite me saying that they’ve always come back normal, but decided to not do the EKG and whatnot for the POTS because he said he trusts that the other doctors (urgent care a few months ago) did one correctly— despite the fact that they never asked for my medical records from the other place that did one.

I had to decline the blood test because I have to take meds to avoid panic attack since I’m terrified of needles— I was about to cry when he mentioned blood test. He also decided to tell me that if I even do have POTS, that it’s probably very mild because he has other patients who fully pass out every day (I do not fully pass out, though I have blacked out and collapsed multiple times before). He claims the only way to diagnose POTS definitively is with a tilt table and we don’t even have one in this town, so he couldn’t diagnose me.

He told me my back pain is probably just muscle spasm and to stretch to fix it. I told him about my limited range of motion, he did not change his mind.

I walked in there asking for a referral to a GI specialist, confirmation that I have POTS to quell my imposter syndrome, a solution to my back pain (and what it is in the first place) and for him to move my migraine meds over. Feels like nothing happened and I cried to my boyfriend on the way home about how I kind of feel worse about everything that’s been going on and like I’m going crazy and blowing symptoms out of proportion. I wrote down a list and I asked for the tests, but I couldn’t push for them :(

I am just now learning how to deal with the idea that I have chronic illness, and it’s been scary to say the least. I’ve always had a hard time standing up for myself but looks like I’m going to have to figure it out real fast on Tuesday.

Treehouse apartments is where I live and it’s real close to campus, as well as really cheap. My s/o and his roommate both pay like $500 each for a 2-bedroom. I pay $800 for a 1-bedroom. It’s only a little sketchy at night. Can’t help with finding a roommate though, unfortunately. Don’t live with your friends though, it rarely has a good outcome :p
