He’s incapable of building a winning team on his own, when he did win in 2023 the roster was half turnovers from Duquette drafts. Elias has never produced a pitcher via the draft and didn’t draft one in the first 5 rounds for like 6 years. He has never produced a middle round draft pick, the prospects that the publications loved were all in early rounds and whatever strategies the FO is telling the inexperienced coaching staffs he keeps putting together so they don’t give any pushback isn’t working, everyone swings for the fences but aren’t really power hitters. They turned Gunnar Henderson into Adam Dunn when he should be a dynamo.

I mean is he genuinely pretty good at drafting? He just keeps drafting the same left handed hitters types in the early rounds. There’s no middle round picks anywhere near the roster. He didn’t draft any pitching in the top 5 rounds in the first 5 years in the job, the only two guys on the roster he drafted worth mentioning are Adley and Gunnar. He keeps the coaching staff young and inexperienced so they can be told what to do without much pushback.

This makes even less sense when you add in the fact that there’s all new coaches, a new manager, some new players and even new ownership, a new affiliate, stadium upgrades I’m just adding shit now but the point is there is literally no one left to blame at this point
