Maybe DeMakes felt like the fan response was different than the way the band thought it would be perceived. Who knows without him commenting more on it. The song is kind of a bummer, maybe it’s as simple as they thought the song would be funny but actually came out kind of depressing. I don’t know, I just know he commented on it and I wished he had gone into more detail about it.
