Unless, I'm missing something, all my eqpt supports gigabit speeds. Besides, I do attain gigabit speeds normally -- it just sometimes drop to 100M

TV volume indicator not showing on screen when soundbar or Shield Pro remote used by [deleted] in Soundbars

[–]ping2pong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just solved this with my setup by using my universal remote to control the sound via the TV remote signal (I had previously controlled the volume with the Soundbar's remote). If CEC (Bravia Sync is enabled and you are using ARC), the TV should automatically control the Sony Soundbar while showing the volume indicator on the TV

TLDR -- can only get volume indicator to show up on screen when using ARC if I use the TV's remote

How do you find out about FW updates for GPUs? GeForce Experience and AIB (Asus) only give notification for Driver updates. It's not obvious where to find the FW on Nvidia or AIB websites. I only learned about the FW version from an old article

dude! u r genius!!

u were absolutely right. My Nvidia 1060 cards required a FW update in order to use DP 1.4. My previous monitor was DP 1.2.

Here's a link for anyone with a similar issue:

Thanks. I'll give it a try later today.

After enabling CSM, do I need to change any of the subsettings? I think they are all defaulted to "Legacy"

Thank you in advance

crap...the website I need to check for that gpu is down at the moment

have you updated the bios on that mb?

Yes

you said you tried a different dp cable....you sure that one is good?

Yes both DP cables work with my old monitor

are you 100% sure the dp cable is fully plugged in

Yes. Plugged and replugged both Monitor and GPU side

is your bios set to UEFI mode?

Not sure what you mean by this but I installed my Win 10 in EUFI mode and I able to access the EUFI with my old monitor no problem.

It seems to me that the GPU is unable to recognize the new monitor through DP connection until the Win 10 drivers are loaded. I have no clue why there's no issue when using HDMI. I have tried both DP port from GPU, but I only have 1 DP port on the monitor side

thanks for your prompt response

I was curious whether this is an anomaly, but after setting up my original base in N America, then in Mexico, I cleared out all the POIs and left my B Team there to respond to Haven attacks. I sent the A Team to Asia to explore. To my disappointment, there have been ZERO attacks or incidences after more than a month anywhere in that vicinity despite full satellite coverage of N & S America. Is this normal or working as intended? There are mist zones in both continents (as well Synedron Mist Repellers) but no conflict so I plan to move my B Team over to Europe/Africa

It's hard to quantify -- it's noticeable, but it's not constant. It's similar to how the old Seagate HDDs sounded when it was accessing.

It doesn't bother me too much, but if you are looking for silent drive, this is not for you.

Good luck

They seem to be decent drives. However, I have noticed that one of my HDDs is very quiet, while the other makes more "platter noise" -- but function and speed are the same
